Ivan Latyshev (@ivanlatyshev) is a record producer and DJ with more than 10-years experience, having grown up in Russia’s cultural epicentre of St Petersburg. Developing a love for deep house, the young producer has been releasing his perfectly- realised club tunes on labels such as Toolroom, and now provides us with a second outing on Dessous Recordings. The Art of Flying EP presents two original tracks and a pair of remixes of the lead cut. 

The original 'Art of Flying' is quite a statement - a jazzy, swingy beat introduces the track, before solidifying around punchy 4 / 4 groove. Restless synths drift in and out resulting in a track that is both exceptionally funky and deeply wonkytopped off with a killer spoken word vocal.

The ever-dependable Eddie Fowlkes steps up on remix duties and supplies a more jacking interpretation, adding a filthy bassline on his Fly Mix.

The same track also gets a 'Crazy Dub' rework which expands the space within the track and strips it down for maximum club effect.

Kicking off the spring ‘18 with an exceptionally crafted release from New York / France collaboration duo Sid Vaga & Herald next up on Martin Eyerer & Rainer Weichhold’s Kling Klong imprint. ‘Be as One EP’ delivers nothing less than three jaw dropping, punchy dance floor pleasers. On the A-side, the title track ‘Be as One’ features vocals by Chicago’s Roy Davis Jr. including a smashing “Body2Body” rendition by Toronto’s hometown hero, Nathan Barato. Eva Be has been a key figure on the development of Berlin underground club culture, going back to the 90s and her involvement with the Sonar Kollektiv crew that included the likes of Dixon, Ame and Jazzanova, to name a few. A highly talented producer and DJ, this EP on Poker Flat Wax showcases her skillful mastery of house music.

'Delight' kicks things off on the A side, a low slung groove with Chicago-esque percussion that pops out of the speakers. Some of Eva’s love for dub and reggae is also present - vocals and chord stabs echo and shimmer across the track.

'Breathe' is a little more  floor focussed - a hard knocking kick starts this off and the track develops into one of those deep, emotional and driving tracks that get dance floors into a serious states of ecstasy.

Flip the wax and 'Pills' is the third offering for this release - precise-yet-wonky drums, breakbeats, deep pads and synth lines that gel together into a perfect, hedonistic whole.

Luciano breezes into Cadenza Music’s 10th anniversary year with a new single, ‘Cachai’/’Dance Unity’, released on February 25th.  

Whereas previous single ‘Rise Of Angel’ came from the heart, this brace of new music comes strictly from the mind; heady, experimental dancefloor tracks with an air of futurism to them that sets the scene for Luciano’s next album, due this year, quite nicely.

‘Cachai’ fuses a bouncing, morning groove with stabbing operatic vocals and searing strings, light organ keys keeping the backbone of this decidedly trippy and minimal production, Luciano taking things back to the basics…

‘Dance Unity’ keeps things in the similar vein, raw and minimal electronic drums, furry snares and an attention to the finer details, with hallucinatory blips, bleeps and haunting keys weaving their magic over the tracks 15 minute tenure.  Luciano provides the call to the dancefloor, with ‘Dance Unity’s’ lyric, and a fitting message in light of Cadenza’s 10 year achievements.
