Summer's here and the timing is right for another compendium of killer grooves from Dessous Recordings.

Steve Bug's outlet for his more deep and soulful side perfectly captures the summer vibe. 15 cuts from Dessous artists set the tone - deep, lush, and rolling electronic music for long sunny days and outdoor parties.

Plenty of label regulars share some top quality cuts, including two tracks from Phonique with Erlend Øye, a pair of stormers from Echonomist, and two versions of Vincenzo & Language's epic jam 'Merry Go Round'.

Elsewhere, the summer vibe is turned up to the max with the Balearic house sounds of Langenberg's 'Sun & Sorrow Dub' and Andy Ash's Mindflow.

Alex Blaxx delivers his summer anthem in the shape of 'Gilmore Heureux', while Adrade, Safeword and Walking Shadow also bring serious deep heat to the party.

Goldwill also serves up a burner in the form of 'Discooker (Boiling Water Dub)' and label favourites Jamie Anderson & Owain K are present and correct with their smash 'Do You Know (Soul Minority Club Mix)'.

Curated by the masters of the deep over at Dessous, this compilation provides a perfect soundtrack to the summer madness.

He returns to Dennis Ferrer's Objektivity imprint for 'Battery Park' and we've got a premiere of the title track. If you're EP is getting supported by the likes of Dixon, Âme, Dennis Ferrer, Tensnake, Adriatique and Hot Since 82 then you're doing something right.

The track is every DJ's dream. It features a killer groove, sharp yet melodic synths and builds that are going to have any crowd salivating for the drop. It's a wicked track and one you should check immediately.

Superb deepness from a master of the genre. Vincenzo - a man that needs little introduction thanks to his tireless contribution to the house music scene via labels like Dessous, Poker Flat, Liebe*Detail, Winding Road, Beadrock, Anjunadeep, his own label Teardrop and many more - drops a brand new EP on the Dessous imprint.

Joined by Voyeurhythm chief Tyson Ballard for the title track, 'Malvern Road' is an epic 10 minute journey into space - drifting and evolving via acid squelches, pad washes and driven by a crisp, tight rhythm section.

'Follow' is a tougher proposition - adding a techy rumble and offset percussion to Vincenzo’s exceptional production.

'Melbs' is another groove-laden joint, built around a poly-rhythmic shuffle and deep, Detroit influenced chords, co-written and produced with Melbournian friend Mic Newman (also known as Fantastic Man for his releases on Fine Choice).

For the Beatport release 'Such Great Heights' completes this impressive release - a slow building intro leads into a euphoric, punchy jam for the floor.

Fresh from Catz ‘N Dogz own recent remixes of Disclosure, Roisin Murphy and Rufus comes their own remix compilation of their Basic Colour Theory album from artists such as Fred Everything, Jamie Jones, Claude Von Stroke, Eats Everything, Jay Shepheard, and Skudge.

The original cuts of the Polish duo's third full-length Basic Colour Theory combined traditional songwriting and the group’s signature bass lines. This was undoubtedly influenced by the group’s busy DJ schedules around the world. The duo invited a number of guest vocalists to contribute to the project, including Green Velvet and Phat Kat.

Across the weighty 16 tracks on the full release are warm grooves and up-tempo cuts. Each remix itself demands attention, as each one blissfully captures the original's fun-based lovingness. Other highlights featured on the compilation album such as Good Touch, Get It Right and The Joy are equally bulkier in vibe, more expansive, yet often less capacious in detail. 

Premiering here on DHA is the remix by UK based DJ/Remixer/Producer Fred Everything. The remix is thought of as an extended method of quotation, citation and commentary with each new sound enforcing the consistency and dependability of Catz ‘N Dogz original production, as melodies and vocals are trimmed away in favor of reimagined newfound rhythms.

The collection will be released digitally as well as on vinyl on 11th March 2016.

Splendor & Squalour number 3 see’s Brame & Hamo return to their rising imprint. Since the boy’s Ep “Lamaj’s Secrets” on Dirt Crew we have seen them do a string of remixes for labels such as Kolor Ltd, Heist & their very successful remix for Harry Wolfman and Loz Goddard’s “Uncle Buck” on Dirt Crew. All these releases have kept a steady momentum going for the Sligo boys in the house Scene. 

For this ep we have a full 3 tracker consisting of all original cuts. The EP kicks off with “Kebab Dreams” which takes us on a trip to the moon with greasy drums and saucy groove. Up next is the MPC workout “Cert City” paying homage to their hometown of Sligo. Closing the Ep we have “Retch Wretchedness” which takes a darker turn showing us the spookier side of Brame & Hamo while still keeping the jazzy touch. A peak time track for sure.

Olaf & Iftah have been composing together since 2003, in what they call a ‘monogamous-musical-marriage’. Not content with just making music, the tech boffins also designed and built, in conjunction with Ableton, their very own drum-machine. An instrument that also lent its name to their 2014 Darkroom Dubs release - Time & Timbre. 

Their music is impossible to define or label. Whilst the duo have been known to edit many a disco or soul classic, their original productions have also found homes on the likes of BPitch Control, My Favourite Robot and Upon.You Records. Their latest brace for Darkroom Dubs are again impossible to box. So we won’t. Just press play and enjoy.

Bristol based producer and DJ Artifact came on to the scene in 2011. His earlier productions were heavily influenced by dubstep where he spent the first few years honing his sound while living in Cologne, Germany. St. Petersburg talent Ivan Latyshev drops a killer EP on the ever-dependable Dessous Recordings.

Ivan has been making waves over the past couple of years with his distinctive brand of deep, groove-heavy house music on labels such as What’s in the Box, Street King and Spaghetti Monster - but this To My Youth EP sees the young Russian step up to another level.

The title track shows a deep affiliation for classic house vibes, mixed with some jazzy ourishes and swung grooves. The sense of euphoria is tangible, and the spoken word vocals add a level of house mysticism that will be always welcome on deeper leaning dancefloors.

'Can’t Go Away' goes a shade deeper still, bringing layers of delay and reverb to the track that help shape a true slow burner. Old Ages also highlights Ivan’s love of jazz rhythms and sounds, building from a live drum break into a rolling deep house monster - it’s infectious stuff and suggests Ivan Latyshev is going to be name to watch in the next months and years.

London’s Chocky joins the Dessous Recordings label and shares four tracks of sublime house music on Steve Bug’s imprint.

'Self Knowledge' is a deep, techy roller clocking it at nearly 10 mins - plenty of space to expand into its full potential - the groove grows ever more hypnotic and engaging as the track unfolds.

Next up is 'A Reefa' - a non too subtle reference to a certain herb that might have inspired this loose yet highly funky deep house jam.

'Casa De Estrela' changes the vibe up with a more direct and jacking track - even though it would work at prime time, Chocky’s feel for space and drama make sure the track will be heard in many diverse surrounding and sets this year.

Your Mama’s Friend continues to build itself a healthy reputation as purveyors of modern sounding house and tech that likes to do things on its own terms. Of course, it’s all down to the leadership of Marcin Czubala who here serves up an EP of his own for the label, complete with remix from Leeds lads Audiojack, which will see 250 copies released on limited red vinyl with digital following later.
‘Immediately Above’ starts with the familiar wub-wub of a reversed kick drum as a loopy, undecipherable vocal plays over the top. It’s a deeper, more emotive track than the physical second offering with ditty neon chords warming the thing through from the inside out. The second half, though, is quite different, with more reversed kicks, big bell sounds and dramatic drum fills: it’s fun and lively and gets stripped right back to a slow-ish machine workout by Audiojack.
‘Reflects’ is a classic example of both Czubala and YMF’s ability to get you dancing. The track combines plenty of bright chords with deft percussion and a pumping house kick drum, ducking and diving through spraying synths that implode and explode as snatched vocals inject an important human element.
Their distinctive drum hits slap out a militant groove as glowing pads snake through the arrangement and a clip diva wails bursts through at various points to add some hands in the air style moments. Three tracks obviously designed for the floor but done so with style and charm to spare.
