Bio: For those who don't know me, I'm Faze One. I'm an up-and-coming rap artist from the Bronx, NY. My first project was released November 1st of 2011, titled "King of the Hill." Taking a short rest from 2012 to further my knowledge in the music business, I then released a EP containing 5 songs which I called "T.I.T.S." (This Is That Shit). It gained heavy blog coverage, with blogs such as BrooklynxRooftops giving it a 5/5 review. As of now, i'm currently working on my next project which will be titled "The Hill Has Eyes." 

 I'm an artist on WordIsBondMusic™, an independent recording label founded by Taqee Bond. All work I've released and future releases, will be available on our website, www.WordIsBondMusic.com. The goal right now is to let everyone know who we are and what we can bring to the table. We will continue to release music and videos of all kind to let the world know that we plan to stay for the long haul.

There was once a time when Produkt was just another drug dealer chasing the fast life. But unlike the typical story of a talented artist pursuing the wrong priorities to a dead end, he instead honed his rapping and writing skills and turned his focus solely to music upon the birth of his daughter.  This transition has lead to numerous underground accolades as well as some mainstream success.  From a record shattering 3 Underground Music Awards to millions of streams across numerous platforms - Produkt continuous to work hard every day to earn the respect of every person who gives his music a chance.

Northwest home town favorite Mikey Vegaz is everything Portland from the lifestyle he lives to the lyrics he spits.

 

With  the early success of his freshman album FLI ROCK (which gained national exposer and recognition as unSigned hype in Source Magazine) MV was able to stay consistent, making quality street music that led to him dropping his  first series of mixtapes "The Definition of FLI". This set of mixtapes showcased his skills as a MC destined to make a mark in hip hop.  Along with childhood friend FLIBOIMOE, MV teamed up with Coast2coast mixtapes and released volumes 1 thru 4  "The Definition of Fli".  With much anticipation the mixtapes included All Star appearances from top DJs such as DJ Whoo Kid and DJ Khaled  to mainstream and underground artist  such as Chris Brown, Flo rida, Ace hood, Messy Marv, E-40 ,  Juelz Santana, J Diggs,  The Game  and a host of others!

 

Continuing to build a buzz and pushing his brand, Mikey Vegaz found himself shifting gears as the rap game was beginning to get back to the grass roots of underground independent hip hop. MV then released his first independent single as a solo artist "ONE HIT WONDER" ft. E-40 & Aaron O'Bryan Smith which debuted on XXL.com and later spread like a wild fire throughout the blogs.

 

Not wasting time, shortly after gracing  the cover of MURDERDOG magazine with fellow North West elite artist such as Cool Nutz  (MVs long time mentor and manager), he followed up with a 9 song track list EP "Thoughts of a Premature Millionaire".   This EP included the remix to "ONE HIT WONDER" were MV reached  out to home town legend super producer BOSKO in hopes to smash the air waves with the help of Bay Area heavy hitters E-40 and Mistah Fab.

 

Noticing the great response from local and national fans following  his projects MV took the phrase "Putting on for my city" to heart,  announcing himself  "Prince of the City" and he launched a new series of street albums  on his own website - PYREXMEDIA.com.   Both street albums,  OREGOON vol. 1 & vol. 2,  are much different from MV's prior material being that he stayed away from the industry star studded appearances and focused on working with the local North West heavy hitting artist  such as well-known top dogs of the Rose City - COOL Nutz, Maniac Lok, Grind time battle rap star Illmaculate, Luck-one, Meezilini and more! Both mixtapes helped certify Mikey’s position in the local hip hop scene.

 

Fast forward to summer 2013:   fresh off the "Summer of Strange Tour" and straight to the studio with a release date of September 10th - MV's back with the help of his lifelong ace FLIBOIMOE to bring you his final FREE street album:  GOLD KiLOS N THE TRAP!

I called it "Songs that Don't Suck, for reasons that might seem obvious, but maybe not. I have this theory about music. There are two kinds: good and bad. And it is really, really easy to make both kinds of music and get songs in front of just about anyone these days. It can be next to impossible for excellent artists to get heard through the music that is...not as excellent.

So, when I hear songs that I think don't suck, I want to tell everyone I know about them. Ergo: Songs that Don't Suck.

About me: I am an award winning, twice Grammy© nominated singer/songwriter with 8 records and multiple singles released under Holly Figueroa and Holly O'Reilly, and various permutations of that name. (Don't ask.)

I am also a columnist, and have written for the now defunct Rockrgrl Magazine and as a guest writer for multiple music related newspapers, magazines and blogs. I'm a producer, and volunteer as a mentor and hip hop/rap/R&amp;B produce/engineer for underserved youth. I started Indiegrrl (<a href="http://indiegrrl.com" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">indiegrrl.com</a>) for women in the independent music industry, in 1998, and left the company to help run Cake Records in 2005. I now own my own label and entertainment company (Grievous Angels Entertainment and Even Field Recordings).
I am a tech and politics junkie. I live in Seattle and have 2 kids and two 2 step kids.
