Mostly instrumental electronic, with the goal of being able to listen while casually gaming (mostly minecraft) and doing the bookkeeping for my business without getting distracted. This includes chiptunes, a tiny amount of asian underground, piano and other instrumentals. I'm mad for the mindcrack team, so there will be the occasional youtuber in-joke thrown in.

"Lauter" was my entry for the executable music compo (old school) at Nordlicht 2013 and became 3rd place. It was produced entirely at the party in a few hours. drunk. with crazy 110 db surrounding noise from the party ^_^ - so don't expect too much. ;-) It was composed on a real C64 with an 8580 SID. Super RobCo Disco Battle started as a Sunday afternoon project in mid-June 2013. The idea was to create a classic arcade battle melody spiced up with a techy Disco groove. It took around half a day to compose the basic melodies and two more studio sessions with Artfx! (https://soundcloud.com/artfx) to pimp it up with a jumpy Sega bassline, self-made arcade sound effects, additional Disco percussions & an awesome mastering.

The name of the track is a reference to the computer/console game Fallout & and is especially dedicated to the legendary “RobCo Industries” corporation, one of the biggest & most influential computer and robotics corporations in the (future) United States of America. Just imagine Mr. Handy & Yes Man fighting a deadly “John Travolta style” Disco battle in front of a Nuka Cola vending machine. Makes perfect sense, huh? :)

An early beta version of the track has been released in issue #14 of the weekly Chiptune Podcast “This Week in Chiptune” by DJ Cutman (https://soundcloud.com/djcutman).

Super RobCo Disco Battle was created using Renoise (http://www.renoise.com/) & Cubase (http://www.steinberg.net). The lead and some of the bass samples are from the NES & the Sega Mega Drive. The Chiptune arps have  entirely  been designed in Renoise.

"The Twister" was composed on a C64 with 6581R4 SID chip. It archieved a 16th place out of 83 participants at the Crack Intro Music Competition 2013 at CSDb.dk. One of the rules of the compo was to keep the length of the tune under 1:00 minute, so this one loops after about 54 seconds of playing time. Also it sounds good on all SID chips, the 8580, 6581 or 6581R4 with all it's revisions, which also was one of the rules.
This tune was recorded directly from my C64 machine with 6581R4 chip.

Lighthouse

This is one of the tracks that didn't make it to the Machine Album due soon. I was thinking of putting together a Lost Floppies Volume 2 with a mix of old unreleased chiptunes and the chippy machine leftovers. I guess it would sound something like this track. Also, this track got a fair amount of inspiration from Zabutoms Zeta Force, and I also used some of his drum-samples from an old FT2 track.

dEViLOCk is a composer located near Bremen, Germany, who is well known from the C64 and PC demo scenes. The varied style of his music is influenced not only by progressive rock bands, punk and metal but also classical music, jazz and synth pop of the 80's.

He began composing music on computers in 1989 on the Commodore 64 and joined the cracking- and demo groups Cyberpunx, Talent, 711, Tristar & Red Sector Incorporated and X-Rated and made some demo and intro music, game music, sound fx and won some competitions along the way too. The C64 was the root of all his computer music and he still uses it to produce original C64 chip tunes or to use the sounds of the C64 SID chip in professional music productions. He is currently a member of the C64 demo groups Arsenic, Performers and Oxyron.

In 1993 dEViLOCk got his first IBM PC and started to compose music with so called trackers like Fasttracker. In the late 90's and the beginning of the new millennium his music was used in many professional productions like cinematic trailers, radio commercials, web pages and presentations for agencies. dEViLOCk plays E-bass, electric- and acoustic guitar and drums on acoustic sets and also his e-drumset. Since he was 15 he played these instruments on stage in several bands like Beefcurtain (grungepunk-metal) and Mampfdampfer (crossover).

Nowadays he uses a PC, a MAC and several external hardware and real instruments to compose music. He uses state of the art soft- and hardware to produce music or sound effects for games, presentations, movies, commercials and demos.
