'Sunset Gradients' paints a vivid horizon of sound, observed in solar cycles of time. Through passive immersion in its atmosphere of elegant, sparkling production, or active engagement with equally compelling beats and melodies, there are several contexts to go deep into this collection while easily forming a habit of basking in its effervescent vibes.

Elements of electro funk, synthwave and vaporwave, hip hop, downtempo electronica and lo fi beats make up the 14 vibrant cuts on this LP. Paul Blackford seems to draw infinite patterns and hooks from the ether, colouring them in his own distinctly-fashioned palette of sound and vision. 'Sunset Gradients' is a calm wave set of warm moods, every track surging through its own perceptible hue, and purposefully giving way to the next.

Mix Six - Andria

Syrte is the Electro & Experimental Electronica alias for Stefan Weise. The name was inspired by the French comic book Valerian & Laureline, the German editions of which Stefan read in his younger days. On page one of the first issue, “The City of a Thousand Planets” is named “Syrte”. 

What started as a way to explore new production methods quickly evolved into a character of its own making Syrte a completely faceless entity with a strong focus on alien and experimental music. Syrte is not about conforming to a set genre or sound. Stefan’s mission as Syrte is about exploring deeper relationships that humans have with machines and moral implications that arise from that and expressing that via music.

Syrte is co-owner of Electro and Experimental label Science Cult.

Сегодня мы познакомим вас с не менее важным и достойным внимания проектом Stefan'a Wiese Syrte, с уклоном в электро и экспериментальную электронику. Название проекта было навеяно французским комиксом «Валериан и Лорелин», немецкие издания которого Стефан читал в юности. На первой странице первого номера «Город тысячи планет» был назван «Syrte».

То, что начиналось как способ изучения новых методов производства музыки, быстро превратилось в собственного персонажа, сделав Syrte совершенно безликим существом с сильным акцентом на инопланетной и экспериментальной музыке, и совладельцем электро и экспериментального лэйбла Science Cult. Syrte - это не соответствие установленному жанру или звуку. Миссия Стефана как Syrte состоит в том, чтобы исследовать более глубокие отношения людей с машинами и моральные последствия, возникающие из этого, и выражать это через музыку.
Специально для нашего подкаста Стефан очень ярко выразил взаимосвязь между такими электронными жанрами, как Electro и IDM, соединяя их в единный живой организм через экспериментальные структуры.

Dirk Wiertz is a dj & producer from Amsterdam, combining best of both worlds working in Amsterdams finest recordstore Concerto, making music & collecting records.
After hearing Newcleus’ Computer Age as a kid in the late 80’s he was hooked on electro music at a very young age.
Starting out with a Roland MC303 making electro tracks was all he would do, but soon many more drummachines & synthesizers filled his studio.
Now more inspired by the likes of Drexciya, Anthony Rother and many others he started developing his style and started podcasting monthly mixes with his electro faves.
Lately his track “Texel” was released on LBR records in March this year, delivering a blistering electro cut, followed by his debut EP “Grounded” on Cyberdomain records, released on cassette tape, which gained the support of Dark Science Electro, Jonny Moy and Dave Clarke.
“ It lends the hard-driving bass-lines muscular tension and elastic bounce. Combined with kinetic rhythms and drumbreaks, Wiertz delivers an on-point and low-end driven techno full of thrilling surprises.”
