Jo Mall Kahn is a singer-songwriter, classically trained musician and a yoga teacher. So then what is "psychological" astrology? Well Psychological Astrology, is not focused purely on prediction being based predominantly on the belief in one's free will and choice. Psychological or Archetypal astrology, the ancient planetary map of the soul” is looked at through the lens of depth psychology as pioneered by the 20th century Swiss psychiatrist Dr Carl G. Jung. 
Jung showed great courage in his investigation of astrology as it was considered to be "taboo", but Jung believed it necessary to explore certain taboos in order to gain a better understanding of the psyche. It's known that, when challenged by an especially perplexing case, Jung would arrange to have the patients birth chart cast in order to gain more insight into the individual. Jung went on to state: - "I must say that I very often found that the astrological data elucidated certain points which I otherwise would have been unable to understand. I dare say that we shall one day discover in astrology a good deal of knowledge that has been
intuitively projected into the heavens. For instance, it appears that the signs of the zodiac are character pictures, in other words symbols which depict the typical qualities of the libido at a given moment." - C. G. Jung
