David Russell Lee is a British DJ, producer and Remixer Icon.

One of the first albums I ever bought on Vinyl in the 90’s was the “Can’t Get High Without You Compilation” And back then I actually thought the artist was really named Joey Negro. Not knowing then that Dave created the name using a mix of Pal Joey “Reach Up To Mars and J. Walter Negro “Shoot The Pump”. He thought at that time, the name Dave Lee was too boring against the likes of junior Vazquez, David Morales and Frankie Knuckles in the House Music Scene. 

Following the George Floyd movement in 2020 Dave Lee dropped the Joey Negro Moniker for good. 

Having such a huge Discography of music to choose from it was difficult for me to discard some amazing tracks. In the end I’ve chosen 40 tracks which mean the most and have the best memories for me, so sorry to my followers and listeners if your favourite tunes didn’t make the Final Cut.

Of course I have to say a huge thank you to Dave Lee for all his hard work, producing such incredible music for all these years. I can’t wait to hear you play live again and will look forward to all your future releases.

Melvo is the host of Glitterbox's massively popular radioshow and has enjoyed a meteoric rise in his career since joining the Defected sub brand in 2017. Since then he’s been a key figure in developing the brand into a good time party beacon that’s seen their flamboyant Ibiza parties go from strength to strength with each season. This year he’s been busier than ever with the Glitterbox record label side of the business taking off as well as holding down a resident DJing schedule that will see him getting some serious air miles under his belt.
