The adventure of a lifetime.
On the next million steps for mankind.
Years of planning and training and prepping and now I’m here and I have left you alone.
It’s time to come home.

Two week long, days and nights.  
Time drags on underneath the lights.
Working all the time mining crater ice,
And keeping the vacuum on the outside. 
I’m living at my job.  Even free time isn’t free.
Every day’s a workday, and Friday’s but a dream.
But soon I’m coming home to you.

Watching home just hanging there.
Months of constantly cleaning the luna dust from the regilith filters in my tin can. 
It’s all that I am.

I’ve run out of cola.

I pull into a rest stop. 
I ask the guy for soda pop
They glurged at me and pointed up. 
To the distant mountain top.

I buy a Dizzy 8-0 Ray. 
Load my rover in the bay. 
In the twinkle of the day. 
We’re looking A-O-K.

I fly up through the mist. 
The engines growl and hiss. 
To my lips I hold my fist. 
For luck I blow a kiss. 

The clouds begin to peel. 
The scene is revealed. 
My rover makes a squeal. 
It’s excited for a meal.

I switch to landing sequence. 
It parks in perfect silence. 
Rover climbed up the side fence. 
While I checked my finance.

I slide through to the shop. 
Buy some pink space soda pop. 
Pay my creds to the cashier bot. 
Tip my can and drink the lot.
