Really nice homage to David Bowie and great instrumentation. The mixing and mastering could bring the drums a little forward and balance the voice volumes between verses and chorus. That said, it's brilliant and will definitely listen again.

The title JoyBot is a reference to the nascent sex robot market.

This song is the result of a team effort and was composed in collaboration with AudioBake. The first draft came from him and it was a very interesting techno track. I tried to stick to the style, but ended up turning the song into a strange mix of industrial and progressive rock (sorry, my bad).

The vast majority of the samples were kindly provided by AudioBake (the hardcoreAXAcidLoops package is fantastic).

Trade Places

A Sunday night , darkness falls and an underground 4 piece bands quietly loads their gear into a deserted theatre having been let in by the night watchmen. He's a fan and he's giving them a chance to record "The Devils' Radio" in one of the most storied venues in the city.

Past performers read like a who's who of popular music and tonight it's Laxá's turn. But nobody knows. 

Performing under a single spotlight they record direct into the PA and it sounds great. The fabled room resonates to Mike Taylor's psychedelic keyboards as the band leave it all on the stage. The guitars sound great and Matthias drives the song with an inspired performance.

A few hours later and they're done. They load out. The night watchmen closes the door and the band jump in their van. Now you can listen to the results of their secret session.

There's no fanfare, just the music recorded in a deserted theatre on a Sunday night.

The Devil's Radio By Laxá

Keyboard player Mike Taylor could never quite work out where his tutor came from. He lived in lodgings on his street and hung around the local bar. 

Some people said he used to be in a big psych band in '67, but Mike could never quite find out. Sure there were the weekly lessons but his tutor never said much, just showed him to the keyboard in his dusty room with tattered gig posters on the wall and had him play.

"Nine Fingers" was all he gave him, it's hidden in the track if you listen closely. A pattern that his mentor told him just took nine fingers to play. Mike remembered and from that day he brought the track to the band and it become the eponymous "Nine Fingers".

The track kicks off with Jussi's guitar but it's not long before Mike takes center stage recalling the 60's melody from his mysterious teacher.
