Un parcours entre abstraction sonore et écoute attentive dans lequel on croise des flûtes polyphoniques et verres chantants avec Osso Exótico, des paysages sonores denses signés Manuel Mota ou Louis Laurain, des textures vocales radicales avec Stine Janvin, ou encore des archives inédites de Shakeeb Abu Hamdan.

“Before leaving for Europe I’d recorded a completely different mix, settling on a feeling: a mix of self-doubt and a belief that what I’d prepared wasn’t quite right.   Meeting Ana in London got me thinking about the mix again. I found her to be brave, moving halfway across the world by herself and got to thinking about how excited and perhaps lonely I’d feel if I did the same. I liked Ana’s openness to new things, and how she’d managed to foster a vibrant creative partnership with Ally, despite being so far away.

In Ally and Ana is a boldness, a delight in pursuing what is interesting and right for them despite how uncomfortable this might be, which strangely I feel comes across best in pop music. I love pop music, especially from the early 00’s: I enjoy the drama and the extended outro’s that leave us in a different place to where we started. The feeling when the party is over and you’re deciding what to do next. I felt inspired by these songs & the CD’s that Ally likes to play in the car. A mix, in essence about intimate moments shared with friends near and far.”
