This is the first release from long time running party 'Lost Control' in Manchester and Berlin and NTS resident under the same name run by Black Eyes. The label itself is our new extension of the portal from the 7th dimension. Specialising in plasma house, sub-aquatic electro and cyber techno all brought back from the year 2097. The first EP is from Texan electro legend Cygnus. We don't need to explain how good he is. We just hope you enjoy the ride of cyber soul at its deadliest. There's even a tribute track to city of Manchester where Lost Control was birthed. The vinyl colour is inspired by the by acid blood of the xenomorphs from the Alien movies, meaning it's translucent fluorescent yellow. "They mostly come at night...mostly!" The record is also mastered by Dutch synth genius Rude 66.

Based in London, Katie has been building and sharing her sound as a regular feature in venues across the capital. As part of the Soba event series, Katie has hosted lineups in venues such as The Cause, Folklore and The Nines Peckham. These events look to harness intimate spaces and invite local talent to build a community atmosphere and loyal following. The success of Soba has launched Katie to stages across UK such as Lost Village. Over the last year, the shift in pace has allowed Katie to dive deeper into her collection and connect with online radio platforms such as Limbo, Netil, Balamii and Melbourne's Area 3000. 

These online stations and chatrooms have been the one stop shop for everything dance-floor, community and distanced connectivity. In this way, I am always so excited to feel that energy and connect with inspiring artists from near and far. So big thank you to Katie for joining the show and sharing this special mix celebrating female music productions with tracks from Logic1000, Jossy Mitsu, Manamii, Mary Lake, RegularFantasy and more!

Sanguine (Robert Hughes) brings us "Softer Than You Think", a fascinating collection of works exploring a variety of styles. First we hear the title track, an acidic thumper ornamented with floating pads. This is followed by a dubby, UK-bass inspired tune, "Inviting Thought," which elevates the energy levels towards "Somethang," a glitchy dancefloor track with explorative rhythms. Finally, "A Movie in Which Someone is Soul Searching," provides a soft-landing for a time-stretched breakbeat bonanza to calm the mind and spirit.

Ya está aquí el nuevo set para las Portal mix series!

En esta ocasión se trata de Depedro de nombre Javier y afincado en Madrid, un buen digger nato y coleccionista de oro negro como nos gusta a la peñita del convento. Amante de todo lo atemporal y cremita añeja made in 90's & early 00's, real y fiel a la causa. Con un sonido muy marcado e identificativo de su personalidad musical ha desarrollado un discurso lleno de vida dejándose seducir por los sonidos y texturas espaciales, con un concepto deep deep y ritmos bien movidos. Después de todo, su pasatiempo favorito es pegar derrapes con la  Saturn V por el espacio exterior a la caza de marcianadas planchadas deambulando desde 1990. 

Por tanto, si aún no le conoces corre a escuchar este pedazo de set de movidas no tan clasificables a caballo entre unos estilos y otros y siempre con la misma esencia auténtica que se ha marca el menda. 

Una hora de disfrute de buenas vibras y de paso podéis aprovecharlo e ir calentando para el fin de semana.

Léo Patt - Whistles Bounce [DND010]

A jaunty. slightly off kilter tune, with a lot of percussive elements and a solid chunky beat. A bit of 303 occasionally joins the occasion. And the bassline bounces along with a variety of noodles and quirky vibes. It's a peculiar track for sure.
