This winter, Monochrome is offering each month to one or several artists to discover their influences and inspirations through a forty-five minute to two hour recording. These three recordings will focus on percussive rhythms between Ambient, Deep Techno and Drum & Bass.

Artist biography :
Diapasøn became interested in music and its instrumental practice at an early age. Since 2012, he has devoted himself fully to electronic music, a way for him to express his passion for current influences. In 2017, he created the Lyon-based label CWR, where he manages the artistic direction and programming. In love with vinyl, his sound universe swims between ambient and psychedelic techno.

Józef Flakus, also known as Somnolent Works, is a producer, DJ and music explorer based in Upper Silesia. He is passionate about breakbeat/jungle rhythms, old school electro, and techno music, often with robotic and strong elements. He loves to break conventions and explore new musical directions taken from different genres of music. The gritty and atmospheric landscape of factories, mines, and steelworks of his hometown region has had a significant impact on his music, particularly in its darker and more experimental elements. Somnolent Works sound often reflects the mechanical rhythms and metallic textures of the industrial world.

He is a regular member of the CEL club in Katowice, where he can be heard playing his eclectic selections from behind the decks. His latest releases include his debut EP titled "Surface Noise" which was self-released at the end of 2021. The EP showcases his distinctive style of noisy breakbeat rhythms, while also exploring new musical directions. In late 2022, he released the "Paperclip" single on the SKAN Records (@skan-rec) compilation, which further demonstrated his ability to craft intricate and immersive soundscapes within the electro genre. On March 23rd, 2023, he released another, four-track EP, called "Elephant On Drugs" on the POTOP Records (@potoprecords) in Katowice.

Reykjavík born producer and DJ, LaFontaine is one of the most auspicious artists coming from Iceland. His most acclaimed releases yet ‘Dehumanized’ - including a remix from Matrixxman on Exos’s label Planet X - and ‘Parallel Series 7’ on the legendary Mote-Evolver imprint owned by Luke Slater, drew attention from many of the most respected artists in the scene.
Iceland’s constant change of weather patterns and diversity in its distinctive nature has a big impact on the daily life of LaFontaine. He channels this into his productions, resulting in a range of different sounding music mostly within the techno genre making each release distinctive. Same goes for his live and DJ sets; by giving time and thought for preparation, keeping a certain theme to each set he strives to make the next one different from the last, which also keeps things interesting for him. With inspiration coming from all directions, LaFontaine respects the old school, appreciates current and coming trends but is always on the look out for new and alluring soundscapes.

I’ve been following Müzmin (@m-zmin) for a looooong time and I absolutely love playing his tracks so having Müzmin on the show for the 21st edition means a lot, especially because we started working together recently as Müzmin will inaugurate the label I started recently with Lenson titled 'Fusion of Thought' with his EP 'Yucca'. Müzmin and I pre-recorded an interview in which we discuss Müzmin’s influences, techno in general, and he provided interesting insights on the tracks he did for ‘Yucca'.
