Vice is a Manchester-based Metal band, formed from a shared vision to breathe fresh life into the music World and to display our diverse collective tastes and influences through our music.
Our brand of head banging, hair swirling, blistering modern Metal is full of powerful riffs and hooks, time and tempo changes, coupled with an energetic, passionate show and a high standard of performance and musicianship.
Our songs have the feel of powerful anthems with strong Melodies and Hooks!  We are influenced by bands like Machine Head, Meshuggah, Lamb of God and Dream Theater and combine a blistering guitar attack, powerful virtuoso rhythm section and stinging Vocals. 2016 culminated in our debut performance at the Mighty Bloodstock Open Air and we have shared the stage with Artists such as Sepultura, Skindred, Hellyeah, Absolva, One Machine, Tim (Ripper) Owens, Blaze Bayley, and Babylon Fire, receiving fantastic feedback from fans, as well as critical acclaim from the likes of Get Your Rock Out,  Planet Mosh,  Manchester Rocks, The Moshville Times, Metal Temple and Rockfiend Publications. 2018 has seen us play HRH Metal, Hammerfest X and Amplified Festival along with our first European tour in Belgium.
We have built a very strong reputation as an exciting, quality live band and our debut album ‘The First Chapter’ was released in April 2017 to overwhelming acclaim from critics and fans alike.

Twisted Illusion, founded in 2013 by Matt Jones has taken on many forms with many varying lineups, with Matt as the constant driving force behind it. Since 2018 fellow guitarist and collaborator Saxon Davids has seen TI adapt into a partnership between the two as both contribute heavily to the songwriting. The band have recently had a 3rd guitarist join in the form of Zak Robinson, to help them bring their multi layered arrangements to a live setting. 

2023, will see the band release their 5th studio album, ' Upstairs to Optimism' as they also celebrate 10 years as Twisted Illusion. In that time, the band has managed to sell over 5,000 physical albums across 20+ countries, completely independent of any industry support.

Composer and Sound Designer Aubrey Hodges has been crafting audio for video games since 1991 and began his professional audio career in 1985. Long before the CD quality soundtracks and surround sound mixes available in today’s games, Hodges was entertaining fans in some cases with nothing more than a single bleep from the PC speaker. Hodges is credited as among the very first to use MIDI in a video game, the first to use sound effects in an online game and among the first to use General Midi in a video game. In 1991 Hodges accepted a position with Sierra-On-Line and worked on such classic series as Kings Quest, Space Quest, Quest for Glory, Conquest of the Longbow and Leisure Suit Larry. In search of a new challenge, Hodges accepted a position at Midway (San Diego) in 1993 to pursue console and arcade development where he served as Manager of Music Development for over a decade. During his tenure at Midway he had the pleasure of working on such popular series as Doom, Quake, NFL Blitz, Ready 2 Rumble, Defender, and many more. Hodges continued to challenge himself in accepting a position as Audio Director for EA Tiburon in April 2003. While at EA he managed the audio development on some of the most popular series of video games in the industry such as Madden NFL Football, NCAA Football, Nascar – Total Team Control, NFL Street, Arena Football, and Superman Returns. In August of 2008 Mr. Hodges accepted a position as Director Of Audio at 38 Studios and worked on Kingdoms of Amalur until the studio collapsed. Also in 2008, Hodges began commposing for iOS games starting with Fieldrunners for Subatomic Studios. The game was a hit and Aubrey attracted the attention of iPhone developer Backflip Studios. After developing many hit games with Backflip Studios such as Ragdoll Blaster 2, Army of Darkness Defense, and the massively popular Dragonvale, Aubrey became Director of Audio for them in May, 2012.

Mr. Hodges’s music and sound design is heard in video games all over the world with a combined total of over 200 games totaling over 95 million units shipped since he began his career.

I'm a Music and Music Technology teacher at Carlisle College Of The Arts, specialising in Production Techniques, MIDI sequencing, Guitar Skills, Programming, Composition and Arranging.

I will begin collaborating with vocalists in the near future, it's needed to happen for a long time, and finally, all the right pieces are starting to come together!!

I use mainly a vast array of virtual instruments aside from guitars and bass. If you wanna know what they are, just ask :)


Started in early 2014, Ivory Veins are an acoustic side project of Emily Douglas and Matt MacDonald, of Things That Hang From Trees.

Both with a passion for acoustic music, they decided to branch out (pardon the pun) from the sound of distortion and drums, to form an acoustic project.

Currently covering the likes of Eisley and The Neighbourhood, work is underway on original material and they hope to be gigging as of April 2014.
