Karachi-born DJ and producer Fahad Ahmad, known by his alias Measure Divide, has been a transformative force in the global techno scene. After touring internationally for eight years as part of a DJ/production duo, Fahad launched his solo career in 2012, establishing a distinctive voice in techno marked by intricate details, textured soundscapes, and playful yet intense arrangements. In tandem with his solo career, he founded FORMAT, an events brand that revived Toronto's techno scene over the past decade. FORMAT has hosted iconic artists like Jeff Mills, Luke Slater, Blawan, and Stef Mendesidis, solidifying Toronto’s position on the global techno map. Its 10th-anniversary event, featuring Surgeon and Oscar Mulero, underscored FORMAT's pivotal role in the city's underground culture. Fahad’s artistry has brought him to renowned venues such as Berghain, K41, Tresor, and Boiler Room. As a producer, his tracks are staples in the sets of techno heavyweights, including Ben Klock, Blawan, and Rødhåd. After a hiatus, his 2021 releases, Green Parallel and Evidence of a Rhythmic Pattern on Clergy, signaled his powerful return to production. Grounded in passion and driven by a love for the genre, Measure Divide continues to elevate Toronto’s techno landscape, connecting the city with the global stage while inspiring a new generation of underground music enthusiasts.
