As we enter the last quarter of 2013, we bring you the 5th issue from Dexta's Lab mix-tape series.

" Here's the penultimate instalment of my mix-tape series for the year, it's gone too quick, loads have happened over the past 9 months and the future is set to be nothing buy busier. One of my turntables decided to pack in a few weeks back but luckily I've fixed it in time for the mix-tape. I've recorded a couple of guest-mixes, and interviews which are pending, so keep your eyes peeled for them. You can catch me on the forthcoming Freedom35 Podcast which is being recorded in a matter of days, and also I'm planning something funny for the "unlucky for some" GiraffeCast 13 with some of the moo crew as per! I've got a few gigs coming up over the next month or so, but get in touch with Lucie @ Empress if you want me to come play at your party, I've got a lot of really interesting music and look forward to sharing it with you all! 

PS. you may have seen/heard that Mauoq, the Kolectiv lads and I have had an EP signed to Dispatch Ltd which is coming early next year, cannot wait to show off them flavours! Until next time! Stay safe! "

Dexta's Lab #5

Chris Royle aka Dexta is a London based DJ/Producer who has been slowly contributing to the D&B scene since 2010. He is one of the co-founders of the giraffe mad record label imprint ‘Diffrent Music’ and has been fronting and developing the label ever since. 

Dexta has taken the Diffrent Music sound on the road since 2010 and tends to play an unexpected selection of music at every event. Bringing through new and unheard of artists, friends and collaborators and even influential music from outside of the D&B circuit.

Dexta has been a releasing artist since 2013 and since has released music on Protect Audio, Diffrent Music, Flexout Audio & Dispatch Recordings, with other work signed to and forthcoming on Clyon Recordings, Nurtured Beatz and his own imprint Diffrent Music.

Much like the Diffrent Music label ‘sound’, Dexta has a wide range of musical influences and this shines through when you listen over his output and the Diffrent Music back catalogue, it’s very hard to pin down a specific kind of style, it’s more about exploring and experimenting with new and different areas every time.

You can look forward to hearing and the possibility of releases of ‘communal’ and ‘general’ collaborations with artists such as Arkaik, Crypticz, Fearful, Lakeway, Mauoq, Mtwn & Sense MC.
