Literally the last day in July, here is the 8th instalment of Dexta's Lab mixtape series, a monthly mixtape covering tunes that are in the box, on the mind, or just on point.

"Things have been hectic for me over the past month and I've found it really hard to even squeeze this mix in, but I feel that today, I could positively put this together. There's a range of tunes here that I have been playing lately, and tunes that I am going to start playing out. I've not had many bookings this summer, so I've been in he studio, you'll hear a couple of new bits in this mix from me too, but as always, there's no track-list. Dexta's Lab #8

Chris Royle aka Dexta is a London based DJ/Producer who has been slowly contributing to the D&B scene since 2010. He is one of the co-founders of the giraffe mad record label imprint ‘Diffrent Music’ and has been fronting and developing the label ever since. 

Dexta has taken the Diffrent Music sound on the road since 2010 and tends to play an unexpected selection of music at every event. Bringing through new and unheard of artists, friends and collaborators and even influential music from outside of the D&B circuit.

Dexta has been a releasing artist since 2013 and since has released music on Protect Audio, Diffrent Music, Flexout Audio & Dispatch Recordings, with other work signed to and forthcoming on Clyon Recordings, Nurtured Beatz and his own imprint Diffrent Music.

Much like the Diffrent Music label ‘sound’, Dexta has a wide range of musical influences and this shines through when you listen over his output and the Diffrent Music back catalogue, it’s very hard to pin down a specific kind of style, it’s more about exploring and experimenting with new and different areas every time.

You can look forward to hearing and the possibility of releases of ‘communal’ and ‘general’ collaborations with artists such as Arkaik, Crypticz, Fearful, Lakeway, Mauoq, Mtwn & Sense MC.

DJ support from Amoss, Deft, Doc Scott, Fanu, Foreign Concept, Fracture, Kasra, Machinedrum, Om Unit, Rockwell & Sam Binga.
