French producer and composer Synalegg is back to OOH-sounds with the startling second (and final) installment of his inventive Computer Series. In an exploratory generative experiment, he developed a Pure Data patch capable of autonomous composition. Each activation produces unpredictable and immersive sonic environments that reflect the structural complexity of the patch.

A vision. A whisper. A road rising to meet your steps.

The Awakening – EP continues the unfolding story first hinted at in “Whispers of the Witch (The Haunting)” and carried into “Remote Isolation (The Silence).” What began as distant murmurs has grown stronger — no longer just background echoes, but a clear, inescapable calling.

It opens with “Prologue (The Vision)”, where softly spoken words in an ancient tongue drift through the dark before anything in our own language takes shape. The sense is clear, even if the meaning is not: something has seen you, and something is waiting.

From there, “Remote Isolation (The Silence)” returns — now framed as the still heart of the experience. It moves like a breath held too long: distant and restrained, yet vast enough to swallow entire worlds of thought. Shadows stretch and fold as light slowly forms at the edges, each tone tracing the fragile line between numbness and awakening.

In “Rebirth (The Awakening)”, the music begins to rise. Melodies emerge from beneath the surface, hesitant at first, then increasingly sure of themselves. It feels like the moment when you stop simply enduring the dark and start reaching for something beyond it.

“Threads of Fate (The Binding)” draws the fragments together. Familiar motifs reappear and intertwine, rhythms tighten, and subtle echoes reveal a hidden pattern beneath everything that has come before. Each sound feels like another thread pulled taut, binding you to a path that is quietly taking shape.

With “Dawn (The First Light)”, the horizon breaks. Warmth seeps into the soundscape — not pure relief, but a fragile, hard-earned hope. The world is no longer silent, no longer sealed. There is motion now. Direction. The feeling that the steps you take actually matter.

And in “Whispers of the Witch (The Haunting)”, the presence that once lingered at the edges moves closer. The whispers that once brushed past your awareness now press in with intent, calling you by a name you don’t remember choosing. The message is not spoken plainly, but the pull is undeniable: you have been noticed, and you have been summoned.

Throughout it all, a single phrase surfaces and returns like a refrain:

“Norath Tharûn Ilthar.”

It is never explained. It does not need to be. You feel it more than you understand it — a quiet insistence that this is not the end of the journey, but the moment it truly begins.

This is the sound of awakening — when isolation sharpens into awareness, the whispers become a voice, and the path ahead begins to shine.

"Wetlands such as small ponds, marshlands, swamps and lakes provide habitats for many of the
world's existing, new and endangered aquatic and terrestrial species.
During the recent lockdown situation l have taken long bike rides inside of the Berlin borders
discovering many tracks along canals, rivers and wetlands inhibiting an amazing biodiversity of
lush flora and fauna during the spring season. I also recently discovered that the name Berlin
roots from previous West Slavic inhabitants berl-/birl- "swamp".
Inspired by these local biotopic explorations I have created a mix featuring my own music that is
influenced and populated by wetland species while including many other artists I have
discovered who have created music inspired by aquatic phenomena or the voices of species
that habitat these wet landscapes."

Felicity Mangan is an Australian sound artist and composer based in Berlin, Germany since 2008. In different situations such as solo performance, collaborative projects with other musicians or installation, Felicity plays her found native Australian wildlife archive and other field recordings, either through a stereophonic system or often via hand-made speakers made with piezo transducers and found objects – exploring the timbre and forms of found and self-recorded animal voices while mimicking biophonic patterns to create minimal quasi-bioacoustic environments. 

Felicity has recently played in collaborative projects Native Instrument (Shelter Press, Entr’acte) presenting electro-acoustic bug beats with vocalist Stine Janvin Joh and Plants and Animalia with Christina Ehrl Shirley – grafting live and pre-recorded drones produced by remnants of plant biochemistry together with modified animal voices. Felicity has also released a solo publication on Longform Editions titled Stereo’frog’ic, a play on the word stereophonic –  presenting a sound piece, crafted from found recordings of frogs, insects and other ‘vocal’ animals wavering about in a stereo field. Felicity has presented projects in many different settings from galleries, gardens, clubs and festivals throughout Europe. Including National Gallery Denmark, Technosphärenklänge CTM/HKW and Sonic Act Academy 2020.

@lauranot is an artist, dj, and web radio host. Since 3 years, she hosts and curates two monthly radio shows: the thematic broadcast (x)=musik on Lyl Radio and the eclectic guest contributions for Sounds Unsaid on dublab.de.
She’s been also organising “Are You Listening?”, a series of experimental music evenings taking place at Arkaoda Berlin since 2019.
Behind the decks, Laura Not likes to call herself a sound-collagist. Her sets are the space in which hybrid sonic materials, entwined in hidden bonds, gather into an idiosyncratic narration.

In times in which distances seem to grow between places and people, I was thinking about how sensations and desires exist freely beyond the boundaries of space and time.
