In German literary tradition, there’s a type of novel called the bildungsroman. A typical bildungsroman follows a hero’s trajectory from birth to adulthood, charting their scrapes with reality and confrontations with chaos, until they finally emerge – a little scratched and bruised, but holding a hard-won nugget of enlightenment. Sanoi’s new self-titled album is a bildungsroman in deep house form, tracing the artist’s growth and fall from innocence, his confrontation with reality and eventual reconciliation with the vastness of the universe.

‘A Moment in Time'  the innocence of Sanoi’s younger self has all but evaporated, and we’re in a new territory of breakbeats, sinister acid lines and weighty chord progressions. The track might call to mind your first experience standing alone in a big club full of sweating strangers and earth-quaking beats. As thrilling as it is, coming of age can be a daunting experience.

As Australia begins another lockdown, Open Records continues full speed ahead. Its next release stars a cast exclusively from Down Under! On original duties, Tonelab makes a long-awaited debut. He's perhaps best-known as part of Decoy, IMPS and the award-winning Ian Chaplin Quartet. Over 20 years later, the Melbourner branches out yet again with “Archangel." Label director Jesse Kuch and Boy With Boat wrap things up with their second "Boy With Kuch" remix. Bearing the “Metatron” title, it features celestial leads, percussion and basslines.

He explores a much-loved Digital Diamonds fringe sound that borrows from progressive and minimal techno, deep house and electronica. His body of work speaks for itself having released on the likes of Bedrock, Strictly Rhythm, Yoshitoshi and his own Boz Boz imprint whilst also working on an array of blockbuster film scores and high profile game soundtracks, Batman & Call Of Duty amongst them.

His debut for us here at Selador is, as expected, a masterful offering that brings two new original productions to the table in the form of ‘Wait For You’ and ‘Everything Remains The Same’ accompanied by a couple of top drawer remixes from dynamic duo, D-Nox & Beckers and hot Berliner, Habischman. About:
For over the past 20 years John McCoy has been exploring improvisational and experimental music.

In 1997, John moved to Milwaukee where he began to record for Soutrane Records with various projects such as Castle Broadway, and Field of Sound as well as his solo endeavor, Mobile Sound Unit. At the time the music was a mix of found sounds, synths, cassette tapes, processed guitar and circuit bent toys all being fed through Audiomulch.

After a long detour away from music, John began to focus more of the modular synthesizer making it his instrument of choice over the last few years.

John is currently back in New Orleans working on a full length modular release as well as filming demo videos for Modular Addict and for other Milwaukee modular developers.
His collaborative project, Pilots, with Andy Wright, is in the process of finishing their upcoming release.
