Aliens, Immortal time-travelers, LA Based Electro producer/DJ "Interdimensional Warlock".. These mysterious and beguiling figures all share one trait - much has been kept from the public's knowledge of their existence, origins, and objectives. Data pertaining to the The latter of this group, (Interdimensional Warlock) have only recently been unearthed - Exposing a decades-long coverup & scandal, following an unprecedented cyber-attack against NASA and the CIA, leaking many of the most closely guarded TOP SECRET documents in history, acknowledging his existence - and more troublingly, recent escape from US Space Force custody.

What *is* known, is that his beats are a cunning adversary - the result of a lifetime of obsessive dedication in the curatorship and production of his 'music' combining influences from the past, present, and future of underground electro - represent a clear and present danger to the status quo - and threaten all we have achieved in our efforts to control and contain the thoughts of the general public, through our relentless mind control campaigns.

It is speculated that he is being hidden by a rogue group of radicals - self-proclaimed band of 'defenders of the underground' - in a secret location deep underneath Los Angeles, and we have reason to believe that he and his forces are planning something big.

2022 has unarguably been a great year for Electro both with overall visibility for the genre as well as with the sheer number of quality releases being put out over the course of the year. This was also a year in which I took a break from my show and handed DJing responsibilities over to DJ friends from around the world. Couldn't be happier with how the year turned out for the show. I feel like It was a busy year both production-wise and promotion-wise for @DVSNME and @DarkScienceElectro respectively, however, I found some time to put together a mix of my favorite 22 tracks from 2022. The Emergence LP is just a small part of a larger audio-visual project, with many pieces of music that feature in the live shows but not on the album. Panned is a track that came from experiments with live surround sound shows where I use 6 or more channels to create spatial forms for each piece of music. I wanted to bring this experience to a stereo format, so I created a track with every element hard panned, with some extreme sounds to enforce the effect. 

The track is also built around some experiments with looping audio through analogue pedals - distortion, ring mod and delay. I had a lot of fun pushing the limits and making them squeal in a heavy sort of way, which lent itself to this intense form of track. (I also used some of the results in Trust, in a more subtle form).

That intensity was something which seemed a better fit for Joe than the normal album tracks, and I love his work and was keen to get him involved with the project, so we jumped in with a remix of Panned.

For the 532nd episode of @DarkScienceElectro we check out a live performance recording of @cyphon14 & @obzerv

All tracks written and performed live by Cyphon and Obzerv using two Elektron Digitakts, one Elektron Digitone and a MAM MB33 running through an old Boss delay box. The set is comprised entirely of unreleased and original music.

Cyphon and Obzerv are a pair of 21 and 22-year-old producers from London, who have collaborated since high school. Having experimented with a few different genres – after discovering Electro they found the sound they wanted to specialize in crafting. Through their music they express their experience of growing up in the Age of the Internet, taking inspiration from science fiction stories and global current affairs alike. 

Over the past year they have broadcast live worldwide on Threads Radio and taken their act to club dance-floors, where they have supported Radioactive Man and Afrodeutsche. Cyphon recently released his debut single ‘Red Zone’ on audiovisual label Patchbay Records, and a debut back-to-back EP from the pair is forthcoming on independent vinyl imprint Gunfinger Food.
