Not many positives have come from COVID-19 but Lauren finally taking the plunge into mixing has been a definite plus for everyone, whether you know it yet or not.

Now Glasgow-based but originally from Dundee, we have partied with her long before Hilltown Disco days.  From Thursday-Sunday sessions at our beloved home of the Reading Rooms, to infamous Commercial Street parties, Hazra has always had the ear for killer tunes and has really just always got it - which can be felt in this mix.

The set was recorded mid-isolation when she had COVID which makes the result even more impressive.  A mix for the dancers and for the nights of the future.

Francois Dillinger an upcoming producer and hustler of fine electro, brings his Detroit flare to our Sound Aesthetic mix series. He is on our upcoming DM004 release. His track was pointed out from the likes of UMWELT and Reka. 

Francois Dillinger has been collecting electro records for over 20 years, and is a true crate-digging fanatic. Hailing from Detroit, he remains inspired by the deep electro and techno history of the city and uses that to fuel his productions. You may not know him as an electro producer (yet) but with forthcoming releases on Dionysian Mysteries, Natural Sciences, Ukonx Recordings, Elektrodos, and others—you will be hearing more output from him across the genre throughout the year. 

First off, this is a vinyl only mix but not one that you would expect. Francois built this one exclusively for the heads, and those of you who spend countless hours scouring discogs, record stores, and bandcamp pages. He chose not to include anything that you can now find in a digital format—even if it was once vinyl only, and now available online, it was cut. Each of the 25 tracks on this mix was digitally ripped (over 100 in total were recorded for consideration in this mix), then re-edited, layered / dubbed over itself, looped, and finally performed into Ableton where it was further edited into the final product. Some tracks are as new as 2018, while others date back to 1998, showing how the genre has remained timeless over the years, as well as showcasing the sounds that have shaped him since Day 1.

Her work has been available through many projects since the early 2000s, including INKAMERA on the Last Known Trajectory label, VITA on the Frustrated Funk label, and ZERKALO, in duet with the American composer Gerald Donald (Drexciya, Dopplereffekt, Arpanet) , on the Clone Records label. She composes the music of SMITH's films and installations since 2010, characterized by a melancholic and experimental approach, exploring the colors of an icy and hypnotic synthesis, and cultivating a heritage stemming from the techno, synthpop, new wave and industrial traditions.
