Hei alle sammen, and a warm welcome back to the Blendet Series

After being on an adventures weekend at Soria Festival, in a Valley close to Kristiansand in the south of Norway. We are back in Oslo and continuing our journey whitin the Blendet Series. 

In Episode 006 we celebrate an Album from an Icelandic Producer who is very known for his unique rhythmic and deep dub techno sounds. His Name is Aðalsteinn Guðmundsson alias Yagya.  

At the description of his Album Sleepygirls it says "Right from the rolling bliss of the opener, you're suspended in a womb, like a pillow of sound that is soft, warm and serenely beautiful." His productions could not be better described. 

Aðalsteinn creativity gives us soothing and escapist soundtracks, what trances the listener in utterly mindful experiences. In his productions can be jazzy instrumentals from a saxophone and guitar to counter the repetitiveness of the rhythms and moods. Or soft Japanese vocals, like in Sleepygirls to guide the mind in an dream state where his Drone like Atmospheres let you go deeper and deeper. 

In Stormur, Yagya continue to evolve his sound into the pure techno realm. His unique palette still identifiable, but the focus now on the swirling hypnotism, the delicate tonal progressions, whispering vocals, and the underlying current that transports you, from the whiteness of Island floor to the soaring treetops, the dense whirlpools of mist, and the breathtaking landscapes are now seen from above.

Stormur means translated, "Storm". It focuses on subtle flow and progression between tracks akin to a full DJ set, transporting you from one chapter to the next. The hole Album is produced in 127 BPM and each track taking its cue from the previous. The tonal shifts are only minimal, what creates for the listener a trance-like state. Fallen into his movements best absorbent in one hole listening. Guest vocalist Hatis Noir providing an angelic voice amongst the shifting patterns, swirling synthesizers and driving grooves.

Back in December 2023 I was supposed to play at the Bistro Techno party in Leeds.  Sadly, I had an ear infection so I couldn't make the gig (lack of hearing is not something that usually helps when mixing techno at high volumes).  Anyway, this set is roughly what I had planned to play at that party.  I will also say that this was supposed to be a warm up set, although the party did start at midnight so I would have got away with it.

With 20 years of experience and progression, he specializes in programming conceptually rich and deconstructed mixes. His expertise extends to creating locked grooves and progressive mixes that traverse the spectrum from noise to jungle.

Rather than inundating you with a lengthy biography in the third person, @6047 prefers to let his music speak for itself. His mixes have graced the airwaves of premier podcasts and radio stations worldwide, featured in 15 countries, across 40 podcasts, and in 110 shows. DJ BONEY S has her own rhythm in music and in life.
Before finally stepping behind the decks herself in 2020, DJ BONEY S already looked back on two decades of club culture experience.

Passionately collecting vinyl from various different genres for years, she started out as a party organiser in her native Belgium. Her behind the scenes work continued after relocating to Germany where she was heavily involved in establishing the PARALLEL nights at Griessmühle as a fixture of Berlin nightlife.

As a former booker and label head, DJ BONEY S developed her own unique taste that is first and foremost shaped by one timeless medium: VINYL. She draws from classic 90s sounds and queer techno, travelling to otherworldly electro or cold industrial beats. Sometimes dreamy, sometimes pouncing -- but always trippy -- her sets invite you to close your eyes. 

DJ BONEY S is resident of queer party SLIME (Berlin) and SOUSAMI (Cyprus), female:pressure member and publishes the PRALL podcast series. She is also one half of DJ Frottée and Hypnotist, both together with zikade.
