10. Z3NBUGS VS DENDROPHILE - Tangerine Dream

In 2013, in the highest village on a mountain in the Swiss Alps, a project was born. Having been attending and organising parties for his entire adult life, Nico Z3nkai decided to help his friends, help the music he loves and use his many contacts to create a family of musicians that became what is known today as DIGITAL SHAMANS RECORDS.

It was not long before Z3nkai compiled the first release and made a huge first impression for the label. This CD, Altered Gravity, showed off the fresh talent on the label as well as established international artists that supported and loved what the label was doing.

Their sound quickly spread with many artists seeking to be released on the label, Did playing their music at the biggest events and promoters booking them all over the world including USA, Brazil, Canada, New Caledonia and India to name a few.

Today, having released 4 CDs and numerous EPs and playing at the worlds events, they bring a heavy line-up of live acts and DJs to rock any party with complicated, detailed, full power psychedelic dance music and are quickly making a name for themselves as the label to watch!

Z3nkai is a psytrance powerhouse and a true sonic explorer from Switzerland, with over 15 years of experience spinning, organizing, and pushing the boundaries of the scene.

The name itself is a testament to his musical philosophy, drawing inspiration from three distinct Japanese characters:

全開 (full power),
全快 (full recovery),
全壊 (destroy).

With a discography spanning over 70 tracks across three distinct projects : Z3nkai, Z3nbugs, and Warp Engine, he's forged a reputation for a sound that is both deeply psychedelic and unapologetically unique.

His production style is a masterful fusion of influences, channeling the precision of DNB, the raw power of metal, the rhythm of hip-hop, and the hypnotic pulse of techno into a high-energy psytrance journey.

This sonic identity is elevated by his deep passion for hardware, with a workflow that centers around iconic synthesizers like the Virus TI Polar 2, Nord Modular, and Korg MS-20, as well as his exploration into modular synthesis to craft truly one-of-a-kind sounds, from artificial lifeforms to evolving, organic textures.

As the head honcho of Digital Shamans Records, Z3nkai has been instrumental in curating the label's cutting-edge releases and compiling some of the scene's most respected VAs.

His influence extends globally, with performances worldwide in countries such as Brazil, New Caledonia, Mexico, and Costa Rica, and across nearly all of Europe. He has commanded major stages at renowned festivals, including Mo:dem, Arvore da Vida, and Universo Paralello, sharing his transformative sound with international audiences.

Beyond the studio, Z3nkai is a driving force behind Switzerland's vibrant psychedelic scene, having organized some of the nation’s biggest and most memorable parties with Hoffmoon, Freaky Moon, and Liquid Dimensions.
