There are sections where I'm reminded of the quite free-form jazz sections in Talk Talk's last two albums. Abstract but tres cool.

The question of how to describe this music is not easy to answer. But when I listen to it, various movie scenes inevitably come to mind and I'm sure that was exactly your intention. This scene you have set to music is so wonderfully surreal and weird that you are to be congratulated, even if some people probably see it differently. But one question remains: who the hell called?

The telephone is fun !  The music is intriguing throughout. Surprisingly easy to focus on,  for this kind of thing. Nicely done !  And I like that you kept it so quiet, it adds to the suspense.

Really interesting - kind of a track in search of a film.....  for OSC some more development, especially after the strong "storytelling" intro would have been good.

Definitely soundtracky. Makes me think of some of Tom Waits' more mutated music too.

Nice false ending. Great artwork too. When you said you were making a jazz piece I didn't envision this, but heck good job!

I modified Jasinski's cymbal and a couple of Bowman's snares. I used a bit of Bowman's box guitar and TNS' (TheNeverScene) guitar. I used a lot of a delay tuned guitar. IV! showed me how to tune it with one patch. But because it has a glide I had to make it one note per instance and then use JS note filter. That's extreme patch borrowing for me. Finally NeverBeenInARiot mentioned the Reaverb "trick" that is used on the cymbal. So a big thanks to those OSCers.

This is my entry "New Year" for the 190th edition of the KVR One Synth Challenge. All sounds were generated using the Vital plugin with a mix of free, paid and included effects in Ableton Live 11.
