Blending world music with cutting-edge sound design, Amani Friend has amassed an enormous catalog between his projects Desert Dwellers, Liquid Bloom, and Variant Field. Traveling the international festival circuit and staying on the road with a jam-packed schedule, AMANI continues to bring his alchemy of ancient-future psychedelia to dance floors around the globe. Pathwey is the brainchild of Asheville based producer, composer, instrumentalist, visual artist, and DJ, Andrew Bunyan. Through the fusion of cutting edge sound design, hyper detailed production, and unique composition, Pathwey masterfully constructs captivating auditory experiences. His immersive soundscapes are alive with organic textures, mind-bending basslines, dynamic instrumentations, and evolving rhythms that move the body, mind, and soul. Pathwey has released music through a number of different labels, including Merkaba Music and Aquatic Collective, and has performed at festivals and events across the US and Canada.

With influences covering the spectrum of electronic music, from psychedelic, dubstep, drum’n’bass, and glitch-hop, to downtempo, IDM, ambient, and world music, Pathwey takes listeners on a journey beyond the boundaries of genre into new and unknown realms of sound. His inspiration stems from many sources including his past experiences, the beauty of nature, cultures from around the world, deep visionary states, and the unsolved mysteries of life. Desert Dwellers - Closed Eyes in a Dust Storm

The lead single from Desert Dwellers' forthcoming album, BREATH, has arrived. “Closed Eyes in a Dust Storm” blends the intoxicating and diverse world-fusion aesthetics of this pioneering electronic duo with a driving, hypnotic beat. Clocking in at over 8-minutes, this first taste of the new album from Amani Friend and Treavor Moontribe is more than a lovely sunrise house tune, it is a visionary journey. 

Featuring dreamy sitar from maestro Paul Livingstone, stirring flute from Si Mullumby, and the ethereal vocals of Nicolle Jensen, “Closed Eyes in a Dust Storm” is a bold statement from the duo. True to form, the new Desert Dwellers album is equally at home on the dance floor as it is in the meditative yogic realms.

“Closed Eyes in a Dust Storm” arrives on Black Swan Records on December 7th.
