Inimitably, Hempress Sativa is rightly regarded as a prolific Singer/Songwriter to nascent from her Generation of ‘Conscious Roots” purveyors. An anomalous talent, whose expressive writing skills with sharpened delivery commands the attention of her audience in each performance; with an uncanny ability to keep all listening as if in a trance, absorbing her every word, every rhyme.

Born Kerida Johnson to Ras Tafari parents Doris Ray Ricketts and Albert ‘Ilawi Malawi’ Johnson, Legendary Selector (Originally of Jah Love Muzik), Drummer, Producer and Singer/Songwriter who would become her greatest influence. 
 
Her father would summon almost 4 years old Sativa and older siblings to the ‘Control tower” which was a room he create to host his sound system equipments and Vinyl records. Located in the Ghetto of Mona Common, Papine, this 2 bedroom board house was the meeting grounds for the family and community to be entertained. Routinely, for his upcoming session he would methodically create an “Orthodox” selection which MYSTICALLY resonated with the Hearts of the masses who ventured near and far to hear Ilawi play. He would confidently hand the Mic to the offspring who dared to go first and it was there that Sativa would succumb to these encounters and began to develop her extraordinary talent.
 
Hempress Sativa has graced the Covers of magazines such as Backayard, Hotbox, Irie mag, Riddim and Abana Magazine yet remains a humilitant soul whose moral fibres are strongly govern and deeply rooted in her Ras Tafari Livity that is consistently conveyed in the contents of her songs.
 
She has been a popular name on the Jamaican scene for years performing at Rebel Salute, Reggae Sumfest and Digicel’s “Bob Marley” sponsored events.
 
Hempress Sativa has completed tours South of the US including Louisiana, Atlanta, Texas, and Miami. Conquering uncharted territory in Minneapolis whilst supporting Hopeton “Scientist” Brown at the Red Bull Sound Select, who introduced her sounds to a sold out venue receiving great reviews and new fans.
 
She’s broken grounds with appearances in Mexico, Mapping through California for Sierra Nevada World Music Festival, High Times Reggae on The River, Beloved Festival, Austin Reggae Festival, Northwest World Reggae Festival, and Bob Marley Celebration in San Diego at the World Beat Center to mention.
 
In 2017 Hempress Sativa released her debut album “UnconqueRebel” independently produced by label Conquering Lion Records with collaborated efforts from Ranking Joe on the track title “Natty Dread” and Anthemic songs such as “Rock it In a dance” and  “Wah Dada Deng” mixed by Paolo Baldini yielding 11 million views and counting on Youtube.
 
Embarking on her first tour of Europe spanning throughout Belgium, France, Spain, Italy and England. With an impressive set at Reggae Geel expertly backed by her band UnconqueRebels. At Rototom Hempress dominated the Main stage as a first timer with an remarkable noteworthy performance manumitting her single “No retreat” which samples the late Junior Murvin which was an instant favourite with the audience. To the delight of the crowd, Hempress Sativa displayed strong hegemony over the Vina Rock Festival stage in Villarrobledo, Spain with an remarkable set.   
 
Hempress Sativa is a multifaceted talent, propelling Jamaican music into the future maintaining a strong foundation that makes her music Timeless amidst procuring the Vinyl culture.

Janine "Jah9" Cunningham

Old school blues improvisation meets hard hitting lyrical prowess in a rich imaginative blend of vocal clarity and complexity. Janine brings her refreshing mix of contemporary and conscious poetry to the stage and delivers a mature, sophisticated style with a unique and captivating energy all of her own. Her musical influences range from Billie Holiday and Nina Simone to Augustus Pablo and Sizzla Kalonji. 

As a singer/songwriter/activist, Janine touches on issues ranging from social injustice, violence, politics and gender to intimate matters of the heart, mind and spirit. Janine a.k.a. ‘Jah9’ has emerged from the underground poetry/live music scene relatively unknown and has earned the hearts and respect of her peers and audiences with each encounter since. 

Over the past 5 years she has been consistently and impressively making her mark on the Jamaican musical landscape, inspiring audiences and musicians alike through her songs and the live productions she has conceptualized and staged. She is now poised for heavy rotation due to her signature sound and collaborations with ace producers including Donovan Bennett of Corleon Records, Sheldon Bernard and Beres Hammond of Harmony House Music, and on her highly anticipated debut album project with Rory "Stonelove" Gilligan. The album is slated for release on February 26, 2013 but Jah9 is already in demand as a songwriter and creative director of repute. 

'Jazz on Dub’ is the sound she has created - a mix of her two favourite music forms, while infusing all expressions of the arts into her live performances. Selecta of Culture — A native of the Caribbean twin islands of Trinidad & Tobago, Valley V brings island soul to urban streets. After immigrating to The Bronx as a teenager, she carved out a space as a cultural curator, specializing in a rich blend of Roots, Rock, and Reggae sub-genres.

Her moniker, Valley V, is a heartfelt homage to her late father, Valentine Voisin, who introduced her to an eccentric and expansive world of music — from classic country to ’70s–’90s pop. His diverse taste laid the foundation for her genre-blending sets, where every selection becomes a tribute to legacy, rhythm, and cultural fusion.

La grande famiglia BoomDaBash vede la luce nel lontano 2002 , messa in piedi e allevata da Blazon , attuale selector/produttore e membro fondatore e Gandj l'anima foundation della crew salentina . Quanto ci si aspettava di fare era semplicemente creare una vera e propria squadra per la diffusione e promozione della musica reggae a tutto tondo , un team capace di offrire alle orecchie della massive un ascolto a 360 gradi al di la' di quanto potesse essere costume e moda . Dal foundation al new roots , passando per il rub a dub ed il raggamuffin fino ad arrivare al bashment ed alla dancehall piu' mondana : BoomDaBash calca dapprima le yard salentine e poi quelle dello stivale offrendo pura reggae music in tutte le salse , alternando e mescolando bene divertimento e consciousness , ma mai confondendoli . Numerose le collaborazioni e le crew con cui il BoomDaBash si e' trovato a dividere consolle e palco , partendo dalle figure nostrane come Gramigna , One love , Dancehall soldiers , Frisco sound e Mad kid finendo con nomi internazionali come Heartical , Runnsound , Tippa irie , Gentleman e Baby Cham .Da qualche anno a questa parte il BoomDaBash si occupa di un progetto interno e parallelo all'attivita' di sound system alla quale la crew e' dedita dal principio , quello di Biggie & Paya' , mc's e singers della formazione salentina . Dopo l'incontro con uno dei padri della reggae music italiana , Treble a.k.a. Lu professore , BoomDaBash da il via ai lavori per realizzazione del debut album del duo , puntando a dare vita ad un progetto di produzione che porti una ventata d'aria fresca nel panorama della penisola . Biggie & Paya' infatti propongono un mix fresco ed innovativo di liriche in salentino e patois , una fusione tra due diversi stili e identita' artistiche che non lasciano indifferenti .Diversi ma complementari approcci al reggae si fondono in "UNO" , primo lavoro del BoomDaBash sound .
