Evans started to branch out on his solo career in 2012 making his own personal tastes in house music and signing his first EP to Supernature. Later In the year he decided to start his own record label Dilate Records with some of the biggest names in the music scene involved such as Droog, James Teej, Special Case, Balcazar & Sordo, Dance Spirit and many more.

Sixteen into his career, Echonomist is still continuing his journey of musical creativity and has evolved into a professional DJ, producer, and live performer. His passion for music still burns bright within. While his style can be varied, his quality is never compromised. His diverse musical styles place him amongst the most prolific producers whether electronic, dance or abstract. "In the Distance" started with the simple idea of playing around with a woodblock's pitch. I liked how human it seemed to become once the pitch was constantly being automated, and then started this song based on that discovery.
