Die Zusammenarbeit mit Matti ist super spontan entstanden. Ich hab noch nie so eine ehrliche, persönliche und gut geschriebene Podcast-Anfrage bekommen. Und dann ist quasi zeitgleich auch noch ein Slot frei geworden und schwubs ist hier auch schon sein Podcast.

Matti kommt eigentlich aus Lübeck, lebt aber schon seit ein paar Jahren in Berlin. Wie so einige DJs hat er seinen musikalischen Background im Funk/Soul/Jazz/Hip Hop. Daher wohl auch seine Liebe zu extrem smoothen Tracks. In den Berliner Clubs ist Matti auch kein Unbekannter mehr … Rummelsbucht, Sisyphos, Wilde Renate oder auch Hoppetosse und nur einige zu nennen. Außerdem gehört Matti zum AKASHA Kollektiv das gerade am Entstehen ist und man darf gespannt sein was es hier noch zu hören und sehen gibt.

Nachdem Matti auch bei uns spontan auf dem kleinen aber sehr feinen „von Freunden für Freunde“ Festival gespielt hat … folgt bald auch noch ein Live-Mitschnitt. 

Danke Matti für deine umwerfende Musik und schön dass du ein Teil des Projekt bist ;-)

What a journey - Words cannot accurately express how I feel :)

There were so much love, smiles and vibes overflowing at this magical space called Acid Bogen in Kater Blau - 3 hours flew by within a blink of an eye!! (I played from 5-8am on 3/3 :)

Many many thanks to @Kater_Blau for having V, and to everyone who welcomed the sunrise & shared this amazing journey together. This V is beyond honored & grateful! ♥

Frisch & fruchtig pflücken wir heute die Mango vom allseits beliebten Tarab Baum. Fabian, Experte in der Zubereitung der Mango, präsentiert uns etwas ganz besonderes fruchtiges. Ein leckerer Disco Tune reiht sich hier an den nächsten.  Wir kennen wenige, bis kein Set, das so verdammt gute Laune macht wie dieser Leckerbissen. Viel Spaß beim Grooven.

Ubik Flashback

Dirk Markham grew up in Aboyne, a village in “Royal” Deeside in the north east of Scotland (an hour inland from Aberdeen). Dirk has been making experimental recordings and teaching himself every instrument he can get his hands on since his years studying mental philosophy at Edinburgh University in the late 90s. His music is mainly instrumental although occasionally the odd folk-rock song pops up out of nowhere.

While an ongoing collaborative exchange with the Forest Records Collective still provides a strong bond to Edinburgh, Markham has been residing in Berlin since 2004 where he previously worked for Gudrun Gut’s indie label monika enterprise and is now part of the research and development team with the music software and hardware manufacturer Native Instruments. Dirk’s experience working in the music industry has fed into his own music and continues to be a source of inspiration.

Equal parts music fan and composer, as well as producing and promoting his own music Drock is always looking to support fellow artists which he does via his involvement with the Digital in Berlin project which includes a monthly radio show, online magazine and hosting regular events.

Life for Dirk is a musical journey on which he is constantly searching for new sounds, ways of manipulating and controlling them, and cheap keyboards from the flea market. His recent works include the debut album by his electronic side-project Systeme D entitled Systeme D In Full Effekt and tracks on two Second Language compilations, Vertical Integration and Minute Papillon. He recently released the 10th and final installment in his highly regarded Psycho-Acoustic Scultptures series and a collection of electronic compositions under his "Delta" moniker.
