Yuu Udagawa, who studied art and philosophy in high school, has since performed at clubs, festivals and fashion shows and is now a regular in the lounges of five-star hotels like the Park Hyatt Tokyo, showcasing her versatility as a DJ. Drawing on her insights and extensive experience in creating musical atmospheres invarious spaces, she continues expanding her musical creation journey.

In 2010, she composed "Blossom," the main menu BGM for Sony PlayStation 3 (Torne and Vita),captivating gamers. After that, she released several tracks for various projects. In 2021, her music caught the eye of German artist Manuel Tur, leading to her music being released through prestigious labels such as Compost Records in Munich, Germany, Cyphon Recordings in London, founded by Jimpster and Tom Roberts, to the up-and-coming Cosmocities Records in Dijon, France, and the popularRazor-N-Tape in Brooklyn, USA. These collaborations have boosted her international visibility. She was invited by Freerange Records in London to deliver a DJ MIX on Apple Music to celebrate International Women's Day 2024.

As a member of W.H. Lung, Tom Sharkett has provided electronics for one of the best bands in the UK, including on their most recent, critically acclaimed LP, ‘Every Inch of Earth Pulsates’. These DIY, indie-oriented experimentations have slowly led Sharkett to unexpected places as a solo artist in club culture, via the portal of Manchester’s legendary venue, The White Hotel, where he was inspired by inspired by cult nights such as Red Lazer and Wet Play, 

Sharkett has since collaborated with artists such as System Olympia and Raf Rundell, as well as appearing on Optimo Music and Okay Nature Records. His subtle, spirited edit of LCD Soundsystem’s ‘Home’, released as a bootleg in early 2025, has recently re-emerged on DFA Records as an official release, just in time to become an unusual wistful summer anthem. 

Sharkett captures this fruitful moment in a contribution to Phantasy’s long-running mix series, which features a smattering of currently unreleased material, while bridging Cabaret Voltaire, Slowdive, Eden Burns and even Chappel Roan. True to the eclectic philosophy of Sharkett’s DJ and production trip so far, PHANTASYMIX 53 is a rare trip.

Our latest release ‘Mila, It’s Not Over’ comes from the mysterious Ponty Mython (Alex). With roots in St. Petersburg, he now sends us his latest intricately produced works from his studio in Vilnius, Lithuania. Alex joined the Dirt Crew family last year, adding his excellent artist name and ear for exotic samples to our ‘Deep Love 10’ compilation with his track ‘Movin On’. 

First up on this new release is ‘Face Down’, a cross-continental collaboration with Tijuana based tastemaker Sebastien Vorhaus. Sebastian and Alex recently dropped their ’Lux or Cairo’ EP as a 12” on Quintessentials, and have backed it up with this funked out jam. The remainder of the release has been no doubt meticulously put together by Alex himself. The record is full of surprises, with audible influences from house, italo and disco, it brims with the unusual and unfamiliar, but is held together with its dance floor propensity. 

‘Apple Arp’ is a joyful excursion, with a bubbling arpeggio, oscillating lead and an irresistible groove. The title track ‘Mila, It’s Not Over’ rolls along with swung live drums and acid touched bass line, before taking an unexpected turn, floating off into an almost cinematic break, where film score woodwinds and strings call out over muted voices. ’Narcolepsy’ hosts breezy flute and psychedelic swells of sound and ’Paulette’ boasts mesmerizing tuned percussion and singing synth lines. 

All in all this record is completely unique and full of life, a bizarre and colourful journey into house music, perfect for the party.
