Berlinʼs Ritter Butzke Studio returns with its second single this December entitled, 
ʻAddicted To The Vibeʼ by Patryk Molinari, and backed with a remix from Kotelett & 
Zadak. 
Patryk Molinari has been a long running resident at the Ritter Butzke nightclub in 
Berlin, so itʼs no surprise to see him on productions duties for the recently launched 
Ritter Butzke Studioʼs second single. After a successful launch single from Mario 
Aureo & Manuel Moreno, which picked up support from the likes of Kollektiv 
Turmstrasse, Catzʼ N Dogz, Karmon and Alex Niggemann, the label pushes on 
delivering more low-slung house material embracing the aesthetic of the 
nightclubʼs vibe. 
The A-Side cut ʻAddictedʼ kicks things off in style with its dropped tempo, dubbed 
out, 80ʼs tinged feel. As Molinari skillfully blends, growling low-end tones, raw 
chord sequences, cosseting pads and a catchy female vocal hook uttering ʻIʼm so 
addictedʼ, tying the composition together and brilliantly opening the single. 
On the ﬂip side we have Molinariʼs original mix of ʻNeon Vibeʼ up ﬁrst, this time 
Patryk opts for a smoother groove-led feel as he rides out a simplistic stabbing 
synth groove and low-pitched male vocals alongside stripped rhythms which 
cleverly blossom over the tracks seven minute duration. 
Then ﬁnally to close the EP we have Kotelett & Zadakʼs interpretation of ʻNeon 
Vibeʼ, the duo stamp their signature mark on the composition as they ﬂip the feel of 
the record into new realms bringing the percussive elements to the forefront 
alongside a bubbling bass hook and an ever-evolving dynamic achieved through 
reﬁned automation, rounding off the package as a killer three track collection.

The Debut Album by Detroit Swindle. It has everything you would expect from the Swindles, some slow burners with a hint of disco, some deep house, some banging club monsters and hey, even some leftfield hip hop jams.

The album opens with "B.Y.O.", a track that balances nicely between the DS shuffle and an old school New York style block party. The track is a taste of things to come for the rest of the album, hinting towards a big party vibe, but mellow enough to make it a really interesting listen.

The one thing Detroit Swindle are known for best is their knack for picking the right vocals. For Boxed Out, they came up with some perfect partnerships. They recorded "64 Ways" with none other than one of America's finest soul singers: Mayer Hawthorne. Being a fan of their sound he proposed to do a track together in return for a remix on one of his album originals to be released in 2014. "64 Ways" has a lazy shuffle, a bunch of catchy rhodes chords and few well placed layers of synths that give this track a hint of "Detroit Experiment", wrapped up in an almost poppy house jam.

One of the other vocal tracks is "Thoughts of She", that effortlessly samples the voice of UK soul singer Alice Russel from the track "Pushin' on" by "The Quantic Soul Orchestra". There's also the gorgeous track "Center of Gravity" that has Berlin based, Ghanese-Canadian soul singer Sandra Amarie on vocals. It's particularly this track that reflects the true spirit of Detroit Swindle's music, a mixture of soul and UK garage meets Detroit house slowed down to a sexy groove with some of their trademark pads and stabs.

They pushed themselves to explore different tempos as well, which not only resulted on some slow house burners, but also in 2 hip hop tracks. "For the Love of..." is a homage to the old school sounds of "J. Dilla", "A tribe called Quest" and "The Pharcyde", combining off-beat shuffles, a gritty bass line and a warm cut-up soul sample. "You, Me, Here, Now" is almost a love song, disguised in a s(w)ing-a-long down tempo type of track. It's one of those "one more tune" kinda tunes.

So there's hip hop, there's soulful vocals, but It just wouldn't be a Detroit Swindle album without a few bangers on it. "Huh, What!", "Shotgun", "The Fat Rat" and "He's Just This Guy, You Know?" are all relentless dance floor monsters, pushing the tempo to match old school Chicago and New York house cuts from the late 80's and early 90's.

With these tracks "Boxed Out" has a great combination of gritty percussions, hot vocals and catchy chords and it is exactly this recipe that has become the much-loved trademark of Detroit Swindle's house universe. The album has a little bit of everything in exactly the right dose, making it both a good listen, and an extremely infectious club album.

German DJ duo andhim brought us 'The Wizard of Us' last year, making their debut on Get Physical Music with the 2 track EP. While the title track was a small hit in its own right, it was the b-side, 'Hausch' that stole the stage with its sunny vibes and feel-good atmosphere. Now the boys have given the track to fellow Cologne artist Dürerstuben, Denmark's Kölsch and American techno-legend George Morel for a highly anticipated remix treatment.

Delsin's considered re-issue and re-release arm follows up on EPs from Claro Intelecto and son.sine with a trip back to an early UK techno heyday. The man behind the two tracks getting attention is In Sync aka Lee Purkis, generally regarded as someone who played a key role in the development of house and techno in England not just because of his DJ sets – Purkis would travel to the US to buy records no one else had – but so too for his productions. A steady stream of them was released from 1992 onwards on Irdial Discs, Plink Plonk and Fortune8 and each one was to the furthermost of futuristic techno and deep, spacious house music. 

The re-issues presented here ('Storm' from a 1992 EP and 'Subway Route' alongside Pluto from 1993) have been fully licensed by Delsin from Irdial and have been transferred from the original master reel-to-reel tape for full authenticity. 'Storm' is an epic 12-minute plus track that travels to the furthest regions of out galaxy where warm solar winds breeze past, the sound of spaceships circles you and a pinging kick drums drive you along. The hi hats are feathery light and jazzy and curious little alien synth sounds draw you deeper into this still futuristic sounding world. On the flip, 'Subway Route' is a 17-minute house trip that's lively and jazzy, airy and breezy and sounds like Boo Williams jamming with Carl Craig such is its hi tech sense of soul and seductive synth work. 

As ever this is a quality re-issue from Delsin that shines light on an often sadly overlooked producer and his truly pioneering discography.

"We welcome fellow Swede Copycat (Ivan Matanovic) to the MB Disco family. He has made himself a a respected name in the Soundcloud sphere where he shared some of his great remixes of acts like Depeche Mode and Radiohead, just to name a few. He’s also one of the masterminds of the hyped music blog http://www.audioporncentral.com.

He sent us Disco Thang a while ago and the track grew every day we listened to it in the office. We simply couldn’t let it pass, said and done, it got signed and now we’re here. It’s a slomo track with a twist of a belearic feeling topped with a nice piano hook. 

The remixes we got comes from USA and Italy in terms of Lou Teti and Ajello. Lou got hold of a funky bass and added his magic touch. He kept the coolness but added a bit of disco funk to it to make it more for the floor. And with the Ajello remix we complete the package with his old-skool acid-deep house-disco touch. We can’t be more than very pleased of course with this release."

Here he pops up on Martin Brodin's MB Disco imprint with a breezy fusion of Balearic piano solos and Moroder-ish electro-disco bottom end. It's simultaneously tough, chunky and impossibly sunny.
