We kick off our Autumn release schedule by taking no prisoners. We found a glitch in the Matrix. And through this glitch a portal, that once you play Neurofunk Drum & Bass down it, that 2 futuristic cyber soldiers appear,
brandishing heavy drum & bass artillery and plenty of Prawn cocktail crisps for supplies.

What was even more shocking was that the 2 soldiers were future selves of producers `Cyntax` and `The Fi5th` Cyntax handed me over a dusty USB stick. patted me on the shoulder, before nodding to The Fi5th before jumping back down the portal just before it closed.

It took me a while to decrypt the USB but once I had done this, and had gone through its contents. I knew the future of Drum & Bass was in my hands, quite literally. 

The contents... 2 tracks depicting what Neurofunk Drum & Bass would sound like 10 years from now. 

I decided to show a few people, but was warned harshly that people would just not be ready for this type of cyber connected, audio, neuro-lization of the senses.

So it is without further ado, you have been warned before listening to the latest Dirtbox release at your own peril. This will change the landscape as we know it.

We throw on our 4 inch gloves on this one and get ready to smash your teeth down the back of the throat.

Heavy, violent Neurofunk. Catapulting into the first drop with a relentless grip on your nervous system.

Some may recognise this from multiple sets the past 12-15 months from the likes of Zombie Cats and Jade Its ever recognisable synth work flows tremendously across the track and audio programming is a pure 10/10 leaving you bloodied and battered from the Face Pound.

We finish off the release by bringing in extra reinforcements, The exciting sounds of The Fi5th bless this one with techno driving bass and epic synth stabs to disjoin your brain cells in every way possible.

A relentless juggernaut of Neuroscape sounds fill your ears and sends you to a far off place in your mind where you feel the robots have taken over, and this is their soundtrack.

Take a step on the Space Journey, as Logam's amazing Santoku Records presents the new EP from the Massachusetts based neurofunk producer. The Disassemble EP showcases Space Journey's tough, uncompromising style, and will fit right in on a label which has given the world music from names like Mayhem, Gridlok, Jade, Trei, Hooves and Logam himself.

And Santoku is only the latest landing point for Space Journey, after Close 2 Death, Mindtech, Future Funk and others, and is testament to the hard work that the artist has put in, moving from dancefloor d&b towards a more space-age, techstep-influenced sound.

Aeon is a perfect realisation of this - a slowly building tune which expands at the drop, firing lazers into the future with a combination of pulsating drums and eerie, echoing synths. The bass is bad, bad, bad, deep, dark and heavy. The track moves through, highlighting the single-minded approach that Space Journey takes, ramping back up at the end for a killer finish. Likewise the title cut, which explodes into life quickly, echoing the march of some supersonic race of robots. Here, the low end crunches into your speakers, burning a hole in your set before you even realise. Bounce and break along to the beats, you won't be disappointed as your mind and soul get Disassembled.

Jump on the Motorcycle for the third track, a rapid trip into the future which incorporates elements of electro along with the nasty sounding neurofunk. Plenty of pace and acceleration mark this one out, as it rides along on a highway of vicious synth stabs and understated beats. Closing things out is The Lost, a fitting culmination to the EP. Voyage through realms of artificial intelligence, with military beats, echoing basslines and a sharp, coruscating atmosphere. Space Journey is clearly a name to watch despite being relatively new, and the Disassemble EP is the start of something very big.
