As we embark onwards of our 5th full year of running at Dirtbox Recordings we embark on, what can only be described as the most intuitive and ballsy project to date.

January 1st see’s the Tape Pack Series unfold with Part 1 headed by Neurofunk producer `The Fi5th` and Part 2 headed one of our new filthy favourites `Shayper`In this project what you can expect to see is a series of releases spanning 12 months.

Both artists will be dropping a single, on the 1st of every month on our side project to Dirtbox no matter what day that is.

This is first of all to create consistency for these artists on their release schedule, making sure both have monthly music out while also letting the audience know exactly when to expect the next.

The releases are ready to go now with all work within the background completed and waiting for each release to land on stores.

Additionally to this both artists are receiving a much higher cut than a usual label split while additionally we have managed to cut the majority of costs for the release to help push a lot more revenue through to the artist.

Very recently Spotify have decided to not pay for tracks streaming less than 1000 streams per year, in which from then that revenue generated will be spread out to tracks that do.

A very poor situation for producers and labels a like. But to counter this we are working closely with the artists to make sure their accounts on Spotify help to create a better chance to obtain streams through their updated profiles. consistent music released to incur additional playlist consideration.

Part 1 and 2 land January 1st. With the Iteration series by Shayper dropping each additional 1st of the month and The Fi5ths Procedure dropping alongside on the same dates.

Traced is back with one of his best releases to date, in our opinion.

'Eye Of The Storm' begins with the instantly recognisable lyrical talent of Lifesize Mc.

This track on the release inspired the artwork created by Matthew Williams and has a very ravey feel to it as it drops into the signature Traced sounds driving it through to the main drop.

Many Sigmus key sounds echo back into the track during the build up, relentlessly driving through the rave-filled bass and synths.

This track has been a huge promotional track for us, garnering worldwide attention when played at raves in the United States and Europe.

1/ Imminent Attack
We start off with Dropset’s signature style intro. Heavy haunting pads and synths climbing to an intense percussion segment and finishing with the vocal skit taking you into the ever powerful drop that is relentless in its cause to create dancefloor mayhem.

The second drop intensifies and takes a whole other direction with its halftime beats changing up the momentum of the track before finally releasing the wrath of its final moments mayhem that will be sure to make you want to attack that stage barrier separating you from the Dj.

2/ Dark Tower’
As we come into the second track of the EP. Dark Tower is the track originally that sparked the release to go ahead and you will hear exactly why early into the Intro as we are taking into an anxious filled build up where you are waiting for the drop to come.

Once it does it, The juggernaut is unleashed as the track takes you on a darker than black musical journey throughout without hesitation of giving you a rest.

The second drop is more of a twist as the halftime beats trick you and take you well out of your comfort zone before dropping into the ten ton monster again catching you off guard and dizzying your brain and movement in your body.

Welcome to Dirtbox Recordings `Beskar` Edinburgh based producer and now DJ, Ruben (Beskar) spent years perfecting his craft before
2021 when an onslaught of music was unleashed from his studio in Scotland.

Releases came thick and fast over last year on labels such as GZ Audio, Deep In The Jungle, Sub-Division & GTA before landing his feet with us here on Dirtbox Recordings.

A catalogue of works in such a short period of time has also started to get certain industry standard bearers take notice too, As Ram Records recently signed a forthcoming EP on their sub label Program
for later this year.

This brings us to his debut on Dirtbox Recordings and his first solo output of the year. As we intend to release on May 4th this Star Wars inspired 2 tracker covers all bases in dance floor frenzied bangers
with that added Disney Magic.

i/ Beskar- “Wilhelm Scream”

Movie buffs will instantly recognise the name of this one as a staple in 80s movies and of course made famous by “A New Hope” from the original Star Wars trilogy.

Wilhelm Scream starts with a haunting upper synth section  Surrounded by eerie Jedi like chanting-like sounds fill out the intro until we drop into our build of grinding bass and drums to lead us into the blood curdling Wilhelm Scream.

Heavy heavy pan sounds with an almost classic Barcode Records feel drop in taking you by surprise while taking you on the full landscape of Neuro flava’s only Beskar knows how to drop on us.

ii/ Beskar- “Mount Arakeirkos”

At the top of the mountain, a great clock is set into stone, built by the Arakein Monks almost two thousand standard years ago. According to legend, whoever watches each swing of its pendulum for a day will have the lifespan of the universe revealed before his eyes.

Whoever listens to this Drum & bass track by Beskar on Spotify for 3 days will have the lifespan of the universe in the palm of their hands.

The year 2023 has firmly cemented itself in the annals of Drum & Bass as the year of the drums, and the bass. With events packed, boundaries pushed to their limits and the farthest corners of
soundscapes harnessed to their full potential, heavy is where it's at right now for the ravers.

And we at Dirtbox Recordings are pushing full throttle to the sounds that people love at the moment and the artists that are harnessing those wonderful blips, boops and wooooosh’s.
That leaves us thirsting for more. 

Dirtbox Recordings has torn its way up the ranks this year, with consistently spectacular releases from a wide gamut of full spectrum producers such a Kleu, Beskar, Cyntax, L3MMY DUBZ and more. and also brought us spectacular compilations such as the Vibe City project this summer. It has been so consistent and unique due to the hard working producers behind the music that help it carve its name in stone in the history books of the sound we know and love.

And this is just the start.

With the aforementioned string of success, this release marks the end of 2023 for us- and what better way to top off the year than 2 tracks from the outstanding producer, SHAYPER.

Having made a name for himself on the likes of Ram Records, Serial Killaz, GTA and more, these tracks are an excellently succinct summary of his own signature style. Known for his experimental mangling of soundscapes and sins against the laws of audio engineering, the uncompromising power of music without rules is on full display.

1/ Shayper “Ingrate VIP”
Heading things up here, The original version had instantly sent Harry Shottah into shock, this relick takes the split nature of the original to the next level.

This is actually Shayper’s very first VIP released - and was an experiment in just how far he could push a sound through processing. Supported by the likes of Ed Rush, Calyx & Teebee plus many more, the musicality of the intro draws the listener into a false sense of calm. And then the vocal sample hits - floating into a bass growl that has seen the likes of renowned clubs such as `Printworks and main stage `Boomtown` build to a frenzy.

The drop itself is an essay in energy shifts - staccato drums in counterpoint to the rolling roar and floating vocal before switching to a gigantic apocalyptic reese.

The variation throughout is testament to Shayper’s erratic methods, leaving the listener unable to predict where the track will proceed, and hungry for more. 

2/ Shayper- “Unchained”

Unchained, rolls. And hard. The drums are relentless, evoking that BREAK crispness, and providing the ideal rhythm for a huge and thick industrial environment, assonance reigning supreme and harmonics abused beyond recognition.

Shayper uses an unorthodox comb filter and multi-band compression technique to transform basic patches into a metallic edge throughout, each sound part of the factory in its own unique space and building to a final product that is as engrossing as it is unique.

For Dirtbox & Shayper, this is more than a statement of intent. This is more than a promise of things to come. Its a dance floor war cry, heralding the future of the sound.

As we embark upon our 6th year in existence, Leaving a huge legacy in our wake and triumphantly smashing through the doors of our 50th release we show no mercy and unleash this beast of an EP from our favourite little Jui-Jitsu Warrior from Portugal. Impex.

His last full EP with us knocked it out the park with 2 tracks getting support from the mighty Noisia on their Vision Radio show.

So as you can imagine we have high hopes on this one following his warm-up back to us with the ever sexy Remix he did of Dropset “Dark Tower” on our 50th release.

Strap in and get ready for a big full on ruckus, some conflict and plenty of confrontation as to why you're not playing this loud enough.

1/ Impex- “The Knot”

Impex opens up the show with what you would expect
from the Portuguese man`O Neuro war.

Horror-esque synths and effects glisten up the drop of this one with an evil skin crawling audio sample. closely followed by Impex’s own Portuguese Techno bee’s swarming across the whole track, taking you on a frenzied, futuristic buzz.

2/ Impex- “Conflict & Confrontation”

Our EP title track is up next and its intentions are not good. In fact they’re down right evil.

Don't let the spiritual chanting trick you into a false sense of calm, as before you know it the pots and pans are out and you are being walloped around the back of the head and front of your knees to
send you into a topsy turvy spin unlike any other.

A homage to 2006 and beyond on this one and a welcome addition to a fantastic EP and follow up from Impex

Things are hotting up with our releases from Shayper Titled "Iteration" and The Fi5th titled "Procedure" V's 5 through to 8 land on this drop from both artists giving us vast coverage of multiple DNB sounds and styles throughout to help us culminate at the end of the year with 2 massive artist albums (We have something
special in mind for sure just you wait.

Additionally now all tracks have added names to them for an individualistic look and to give it more noticeability. 

As we embark onwards of our 5th full year of running at Dirtbox Recordings we embark on, what can only be described as the most intuitive and ballsy project to date.

In this project what you can expect to see is a series of releases spanning 12 months. The first 4 are already out there and both artists will be dropping a single, on the 1st of every month still on
our side project to Dirtbox no matter what day that is for the entire year totalling 12 tracks each.

This is first of all to create consistency for these artists on their release schedule, making sure both have monthly music out while also letting the audience know exactly when to expect the next.

The releases are ready to go now with all work within the background completed and waiting for each release to land on stores.

Additionally to this both artists are receiving a much higher cut than a usual label split while additionally we have managed to cut the majority of costs for the release to help push a lot more revenue through to the artist.

Very recently Spotify have decided to not pay for tracks streaming less than 1000 streams per year, in which from then that revenue generated will be spread out to tracks that do.

A very poor situation for producers and labels a like. But to counter this we are working closely with the artists to make sure their accounts on Spotify help to create a better chance to obtain
streams through their updated profiles. consistent music released to incur additional playlist consideration.

One thing that has truly pleased us as a label is not only welcoming new talented artists to the label but also working alongside who we consider our peers, some of the artists we grew up listening to in the honeymoon years for us of DNB and our all time favourites too.

Add to this a sprinkling of foreign exchange and being able to  work with talented artists / peers from across the globe and you have a very happy record label indeed.

If you have been living under a rock for the past 10+ years or so then you may not have come across the Puerto Rican born producer situated in the U.S of A.

We are very proud to announce our collaboration as a label and artist with none other than Diode. 

A vast catalogue of work has drenched the DNB world for quite some time now and it was only fitting we brought the artist to the attention of our labels followers as his direction pretty much lines up with ours and our ethos which is truly to cover the entire spectrum of Drum and bass.

We are very proud of this one and excited to collaborate for the future. as we introduce the Interruption EP.

1/ “Don't Interrupt Me”

A true favourite of ours this year and a track that has seen
some heavy exposure through some of the larger artists in DNB.

Starting off in Diodes signature Funk sounds and chords, we are quickly led into a remarkable build of audio sonics that place you on the edge of your seat.

Key changes and whirling rises lend themselves to the robotic voices which take a switch as we drop a Jungle Techno snippet before a nan slapping Neurofunk drop.

This one is relentless as we switch basslines and keys throughout until a crescendo of bass and beats.

2/ “Racing”

Foot on the peddle. Let's go. Vin Diesel would be proud of this one. as we welcome “Racing” into the Dirtbox family.

A slapper of A neurofunk drop with some awesome melodic swishes.

This one is a Virus-esque Chugger of grade A prime classic sounds accompanied by gated synths and up to date bass synthesis. 

An awesome one for the middle of the set at prime time.

3/ “In Silence” 

We close out the EP on a high note. A true one, Piano’s, sweeps and vocals propulse us into an epic percussive lead breakdown, Anthemic and beautiful this one ticks all the boxes.

A true, and beautiful way to end the EP with Diode flexing his production muscle and showing his range, Big time Interruption EP is out July 29th exclusively on Beatport & Spotify then everywhere else 2 weeks after

An exciting day at the office for Dirtbox as we finally present the full EP from Glitch CIty after his widely successful DNB single during the summer in the lead up to this mammoth 4 tracker.

Sam spreads his wings like a great American Eagle for this one with a heavy focus on the beautiful sounds of Jump Up DNB. with his own added extra sauce.

A fantastic edition to the label to close out the summer period and one that is turning heads wherever it gets played.

1/ “Down The Rabbit Hole”
An intro laden with `Walt Disney` sound effects drop us right into the rabbit hole on this one, some classic 60s vocal snippets from those classics take care of the build until we drop into a filthy array of distorted percussion and heavy warpy basses.

Alice in Wonderland was obviously a ket head.

This track proves it.

2/ “Land Of The Noble”

Our title track drops in 2nd on the EP and brings with it a very egyptian feel to the soundscape of this one, More vocals and warpy synth work build this one to a heavy as nails drop fit for a set from the man Dj Hazard.

The bassline on this one is a grumbler, and will shake your rib cage to its core when heard on the right sound system. We implore you to turn those speakers up when playing this one.

3/ “Tuff Nutts”

No we’re not talking squirrel food that's really hard to get open.

This one refers to the cajones of the DJ. 

Have you got the  venables to drop this one. It's a hard mudder fudder with a lot of inspiration from some classic Jump Up tracks over the past 2 decades.

Plenty of cool samples to spot in this one for the spotters out there, And an overall pleaser of every dancefloor this one  touches.

4/ “Hynotize”

This one has been getting some seriously good feedback. 

It's been played worldwide and a huge finish to the first Dirtbox EP from Sam.

You`ll recognise the samples, vocals and synth instantly if you are a child of the 90s.

I'd be inclined to say any Hip-hop fan will dig what's been done here and twisted into a plethora of sword wielding samples and heavy rumbling bass to shake your guy to pieces.

We are delighted to announce the final drop of the year
from the Tape Pack Project's 1 & 2.

Throughout 2024 we have seen the first 2 series of the project drop a single track on the 1st of every month which is to be ongoing for a total of 12 months.

Both artists The Fi5th and Shayper have come with the goods delighting us with an onslaught of DNB from across the spectrum, specialising in their creative sub-genres.

Both artists are now on the brink of the final piece of this puzzle where both will land as an album and a final yet to be heard track on both series (V12) which will be a collaboration from both artists.

Procedure V9-11 and Iteration V9-11 are included in this mail out totalling a massive 6 tracks that are due to be dropped between September 1st and November 1st.

Please make sure you are leaving some great feedback for this as this has been a huge project for both artists who have worked tirelessly to get this music out in time, whilst its label `Dirtbox Recordings` has fulfilled everything it could possibly do and more to help get this to the forefront of the DSP platforms which in turn have been supporting it year wide.

Additionally for their hard work both artists are incorporating a much larger revenue cut from this release to normal releases due to the sheer output this has asked of them.

Kickstarting our 2024 Autumn schedule we bring back one of our most popular series on the label. The one and only Rock N Rollerz.

The aim of this series is to bring the very best of those dutty DNB rollers and amen ridden Jungle tracks to the masses, and that is exactly what we have been doing with Entropy & Skandal dropping the first on the series early in 2024.

Expect these EP’s to come thick and fast right now as we have a plethora of music to drop under this series.

Wasting no time we invite one of the newest, and most talented artists in drum and bass, who is making some serious waves.

We discovered Sam aka APOM on another label `Subdue` recently and knew we had to hit him up to work alongside.

APOM is currently in quite high demand but by the end of summer we managed to nab these two custom made bangers for the series, and we are sure you will not be disappointed.

1/ APOM - “Stank”

With a name like Stank it's very easy to come to the conclusion that this has `Rock n Rollerz` written all over it.

We are not messing about on this one, And neither is Apom, a crunchy backdoor kicker if we ever heard one that will be turning gun fingers into anti tank missile fists.

Some eerie chords mixed in with the Stank vocal and of course simmering Bassline make up a huge portion of this track but its that absolutely stanky stab and rolling drop that makes the track a true contender for biggest banger of the Autumn club period.

2/ APOM - “Amped”

Amped brings a much more techier feel. but with a bunch of naughty synth work and one of the best fight promos ever, from Mike Tyson “I'll eat your children”

A trippy one this, ripping your heart from your chest as this one will make you sway in and out of those dance floor steps you’re planning on taking.
