Will Clarke mans the controls: Making his Dirtybird debut in January with "Badness" on DIRTYBIRD 10, follwing up with "The Boogie Woogie" EP and lazer-snapping "808Frenzy" on "DIRTYBIRD BBQ - Grill$ons Revenge" collection, the bristly Bristol-based spandex enthusiast has enjoyed a beautiful summer with releases on Defected, Emerald City and Turbo and unforgettable shows across the US, Australia and Europe.

Returning to the label with the bulbous two-track EP "Turn It Up," Clarke does just that: Writhing in carnal groove simplicity, he taps into the roots of timeless, low-down, butt-wriggling house music with three obscene examples of strong-armed tech funk. "Can You Funk" punches with Breach-level hookiness, and Turn It Up does the loopy-loop with Dirtybirds trademark vocal trippiness.

Ahh, the joys of Summer. Something about this season puts a smile on our face. Could be the sun, could be the Summer break, but most of all we love it because it’s BBQ season. Dirtybird started with a grill and some speakers in the park, and while we’ve passed a decade of park parties, we’ve reached the third installment of our yearly BBQ compilation, “Secret Sauce'.

BBQ’s are all about coming together, so we’ve added some unique artist collaborations, along with several up and coming artists we’ve welcomed to the family. Doorly &amp; Marshall Jefferson, Shiba San &amp; Will Clarke, Billy Kenny &amp; Maximono, Christian Martin &amp; Ardalan, and Justin Jay &amp; Sacha Robotti all team up for the first time, and we welcome back Bruno Furlan and Sirus Hood, who each turn in their own stand-out tracks that have been on heavy rotation. New faces to Dirtybird include Dateless, Whoami, Sven Lochenhoer, Middath, Groove ’N Hat, Dankey, and Born Dirty.

With enough music to fuel your Summer holiday, you can catch all of these tracks being played on our BBQ tour, where will be hitting up San Francisco, Seattle, Brooklyn, Detroit and our BBQ city vote winner, Miami. See you in the sun.

Ardalan’s ‘Mr. Good’ LP offers an emotional look into the heart and mind of a young artist. It’s a coming of age tale that tracks Ardalan as he figures out his sound and creative identity. 

The story unfolds across eleven tracks documenting Ardalan’s search for analog perfection.  The intricate sound design comes from a collection of hardware Ardalan has built over the years. There are no generic basslines or sample packs involved.  Ardalan reaches all the way back to early 2000s while updating the sound with modern mixdowns and clever production tricks. The album is weird yet danceable, classic yet futuristic.  

After watching Ardalan develop his sound and musical career over the years, we're proud to see him turn in this forward-thinking record that pushes his sound to the future.

You know Dirtybird for dropping basslines and creating smiles on the dance floor since January 2005.

The fun family vibe of the Dirtybird label can be traced back to a free event started in Golden Gate Park, San Francisco. This new kind of house music went against the smooth vocal house that was popular at the time and derived its influences mostly from hip-hop, drum n bass, and American funk. The free outdoor BBQ party was very rough around the edges but eventually became legendary amongst the people of San Francisco. This event was also a very influential factor in the decision by Claude VonStroke to start the record label in 2005.

Today, Dirtybird has offices in San Francisco and Los Angeles and has expanded into events and tour production. As it grows, the brand continues to expand beyond music into merchandise, licensing and artist management. In 2015, Dirtybird launched the inaugural Dirtybird Campout festival, which has been dubbed “Summer Camp For Adults”, and Dirtybird has been recognized from their achievements by being awarded "Underground Label of the Year" at the International Dance Music Awards, “Label of the Decade” by Mixmag, “Best North American Label” by DJ Mag, and Billboard’s "Top 5 Independent Dance Labels".
