Ardalan’s ‘Mr. Good’ LP offers an emotional look into the heart and mind of a young artist. It’s a coming of age tale that tracks Ardalan as he figures out his sound and creative identity. 

The story unfolds across eleven tracks documenting Ardalan’s search for analog perfection.  The intricate sound design comes from a collection of hardware Ardalan has built over the years. There are no generic basslines or sample packs involved.  Ardalan reaches all the way back to early 2000s while updating the sound with modern mixdowns and clever production tricks. The album is weird yet danceable, classic yet futuristic.  

After watching Ardalan develop his sound and musical career over the years, we're proud to see him turn in this forward-thinking record that pushes his sound to the future.

Annie Mac played my remix of Nadastrom's upcoming single "Fallen Down" on BBC R1 over the weekend! Not only are Dave and Matt from Nadastrom two of the most innovative and bad ass producers i know, but they are also two of the nicest guys out there! it was an honor to be part of this project and i hope you all support their album when it drops because its awesome! my remix will be out in the next few weeks on dubsided:)

*this remix was particularly fun to work on because i experimented sonically with trying to recreate the contrast between hearing a song from inside the club on the dance floor and the same song from outside the club in the back alley. i hope you enjoy!

-How long have you been creating music? 
7 years.

-What do you use to make your tracks? 
Ableton Live but I really wish I had a slide whistle too.

-How and when did you first discover Dirtybird? 
In 2011 I had free tickets to see Claude Von Stroke at Avalon in Hollywood for a Dirty Bird night.

-Which Dirtybird artist would you want to collaborate with the most? 
Walker & Royce would be sick but can we have that Fisher energy in the studio with us, he's a riot.

-If your entire life was a movie, what title would best describe you? 
Ace Ventura Pet Detective 2

-What’s the best concert you’ve ever been to? 
Dirtybird Campout vibes are unbeatable but something about Tomorrowworld 2015 in the mud was special.

-If you could time travel, where and when would you go? 
Ancient Egypt but with a backpack full of technology, something about the way Ancient Egyptian women are portrayed is sexy. A 2nd option would be back to Claude's birthday to see if he was born with that glorious beard its kind of a tie between both.

-What species of bird best describes you and why? 
Swan - I know it may be hard to believe but I wasn't always this handsome.

-What does Dirtybird mean to you? 
Family, freedom, keeping it weird, & birds going bonkers to great music.

You know Dirtybird for dropping basslines and creating smiles on the dance floor since January 2005.

The fun family vibe of the Dirtybird label can be traced back to a free event started in Golden Gate Park, San Francisco. This new kind of house music went against the smooth vocal house that was popular at the time and derived its influences mostly from hip-hop, drum n bass, and American funk. The free outdoor BBQ party was very rough around the edges but eventually became legendary amongst the people of San Francisco. This event was also a very influential factor in the decision by Claude VonStroke to start the record label in 2005.

Today, Dirtybird has offices in San Francisco and Los Angeles and has expanded into events and tour production. As it grows, the brand continues to expand beyond music into merchandise, licensing and artist management. In 2015, Dirtybird launched the inaugural Dirtybird Campout festival, which has been dubbed “Summer Camp For Adults”, and Dirtybird has been recognized from their achievements by being awarded "Underground Label of the Year" at the International Dance Music Awards, “Label of the Decade” by Mixmag, “Best North American Label” by DJ Mag, and Billboard’s "Top 5 Independent Dance Labels".
