Feel Good Show Episode 68

'The Daydream Disco Mix Series' aims to bring you the best nudisco, soul, funk and house vibes to kick start your week. Each mix is made up of 10 of our favourites tracks at the moment. This week we bring you a DJ who we have been listening to for a little while, not only is he an awesome DJ Producer but he's an all round top bloke! Let us introduce Ben Jamin!

Ben Jamin is a Liverpool based DJ and producer with releases on labels such as Discoholics Anonymous, Too Slow To Disco, and most recent Cosmic Miracles EP on Hot Digits Music. This mix brings some exclusives and promos with a blend of his top ten disco records of the moment. Most weekends you can find him spinning his disco vibes in bars around Liverpool playing the best in downtempo and nu disco.

This week I'm joined by fellow Northerner Wilson Frisk, a man with a rich musical background who has been running events and DJing since the mid-nineties. I'm a regular listener to his own radio show, the brilliant "Housebound" show which broadcasts every two weeks on People's City Radio. It's a delight to bring his talents to the show.

** WILSON FRISK BIO **
Craig AKA Wilson Frisk hails from Bradford, Yorkshire in the north of England. Like many other DJs Wilson started his musical journey collecting music as a young teenager doing compilations for his friends. In 1994 Wilson started a music fanzine called 'Jackyard Backoff' with his late friend Chris Stephenson which covered the music scene in the north of England.

Around 1995 Wilson became involved with a very successful club night called 'Spice' which was his first stint at DJing, playing Broken Beat, Acid Jazz, Hip Hop, Soul and Jazz. Although Wilson had listened and collected plenty of House music, he didn’t become a full on House DJ til around 1998. Since then Wilson has firmly established himself in the House music scene holding down residencies in Bradford, Leeds and Huddersfield and been involved with infamous club nights such as Back2Funky, Uno House, Our House, Afro Coalition, Way2Funky, Wallop, GYGO and The House Of Phunk.

Currently Wilson is one of the Boombox Stereo residents who play at the mighty BeatHearder Festival and part of the 4PlayDJs Collective who play at the Solfest Festival in Cumbria. 

Recently Wilson has also turned his hand to production and is one half Of The Krate Diggaz along with Rich T who are signed to Disco Filter Records and Black Rain Records, with current releases on Traxsource.com.

Wilson is known for his smooth mixing style, taking you on a musical journey dipping in and out of all genres of House music but keeping it in his Soulful, Funky style that he renowned for!

You can now catch Wilson on PCR (People's City Radio) peoplescityradio.co.uk/ every other Wednesday night 6 til 8pm UK with his show 'HouseBound' which has been firmly running for 4 years now, playing all things House, with regular guests.....Keep The Faith!

The Black Light Disco Shows sprinkles the fairy dust all over themyhouseradio.fm airwaves a little later on with a very special takeover show to rev your Monday up.  

This week, we welcome Newcastle lads RJ into the bright lights of BLD Towers; giving them the VIP treatment (including hot towels) and the freedom of the 7th floor Sonic Research Lab.

RJ are North East of England duo Richard Harle and Chris Bremner. Their partnership has spanned the last two decades, during which time they have amassed a huge following in the UK as well as Europe. RJ have put on some spectacular nights in the legendary Hoochie Coochies in their home town and played alongside some of the biggest names out there - including such luminaries as Dave Lee, The Reflex, Natasha Kitty Kat, Copyright, Sandy Rivera and Harry Romero to name drop but a few. 

Their love of original disco, soul and smokey, funky grooves oozes out of their sets, and we’re absolutely thrilled to hand the entire show over to them to give you a taste of what they’re all about.
