Radiobar’s next invitee does not need much of an introduction.

Discobar’s first encounter with him was in a warehouse party in Brooklyn two years back, where his classy technique and medley of musical maestroism shone through like the sunrays beaming down on his afterhours set proving himself against the New York heavyweights as a true artist in the making.  

Currently based in Copenhagen his time is kept occupied by running his label Concealed Sounds that featured the sounds of Thomas Melchior recently ; as well as producing his own work, having releases on Minibar, Aeternum and Subsequent to name a few. 

It is without further ado that we are proud to introduce you to the second podcast in the Radiobar series: Martinez.

For the next instalment in the Radiobar mix series we would like to introduce and welcome the latest family member to Discobar: Darren Allen.

It was during a sweet end of summer before Club Der Visionaere closed for the season that we met Darren personally and also heard his technique and skills behind the decks which this podcast shows.

Founder of Underlying Form – a community, party and, since his debut release, record label – Darren Allen is a key figure in an international network of uncompromisingly underground minimal house and techno nights and DJs.

Set to release the next EP on the label DISCOBAR, we are very proud to have him present this unique session for our podcast series.

With spring just around the corner, the Discobar team is proud to introduce the newest edition to the Radiobar series and a good friend to the Discobar team, the talented DJ, Topper. 

Having witnessed his skills first hand during the long summer sessions at CDV it became apparent that not only was Topper a talented DJ behind the decks, but also his production skills were making waves amongst those in the know and beyond, most notably releases by his own label DEAD RAIL – something certainly worth checking out if you haven’t already…

It is with great pleasure that we present to you this cut from one of his last DJ sets at Hoppetosse as our May release – happy listening!

It was on a pleasantly warm summer night in Cairo that Zeina’s seamless style behind the decks caught the attention of the Discobar team while enchanting the crowd, setting revellers up for a night of good vibes and musical magic. Its moments like this, which really make everything make sense on the dance floor. 

Warm, open and grounded her values reflect the expressive and creative person she is, and talented DJ/producer she has become. Her un-wavering commitment to establish a sense of community through music has roots in her constant traveling, having lived across the world, including Canada, Cairo and Berlin. 

Currently living between Cairo and Berlin, her event series ‘Unfamiliar’ celebrates the coolest up-and-coming female electronic music artists, and provides a platform for them to explore playing in constant new locations. If you haven’t already, go check out this project for yourself..

Since the start of 2019, we've been recording pretty much every minute of every function that's happened at Nowadays. We're lucky enough to be in a position to host the most amazing DJs in the game every single week, both from within the scene here in New York and around the world, and it only felt right to try and share some of the action with those who couldn't make it and with those who want to relive it.

The first installment comes from beloved Nowadays resident and queen of the twilight hours, Beta Librae. Bailey's contributions to the vibe down here, both as a friend, a DJ and a dancer have been tremendous, and what she served up on the hi-fi back in early February blew our minds. This excerpt is taken from the last two hours of the party, just after Noncompliant had finished, and it flawlessly stitches together mutant electro oddities, heady, tribal bombs and super tight, tech-house rollers.

Big thanks to Bailey for the killer sounds, to Lou for the mastering, and to all the hardcore, late-night/early-morning heads for their energy on the dance floor. It might get foggy in here sometimes, but we see you.

This time, she's done us a DJ mix of music from the slower side of the tracks; genre hopping throughout and delivering something fresh at every turn, whist never getting up much above 100bpm! The Naive label boss exhibits her wide and varied musical appreciation, and we're thoroughly mesmerised. Turn it up!
