One of the projects of the Mexican producer Luis Fernando Hernández, head of the Bonkers label, entitled LFB, comes to an end. From the distant EP "Elements" on Borderless Project three years ago, to Illegal Alien's Myths and Legends and multiple original mixes and remixes on Bonkers, LFB is ready to lower the curtain. And as each cycle has its closure, which brings new possibilities, the end of LFB comes with a celebration: one of its most representative tracks, Synesthesia, is wrapped in a beautiful Remix Package in which Mexican talents are in charge of interpreting the  original track "Synesthesia".

Two of the most promising producers of the so-called Indie Dance/Dark Disco scene joined forces to deliver the forthcoming release of the respected label Espacio Cielo: Lucare (SXDNS175) and Aurum Miles present “Demonomania”, a devilish and intense EP featuring two spirited originals and three lively remixes provided with love by an international selection of top-notch artists: Mexico-born/France-based Leonor (SXDNS034), Spanish Lebollet (RASTROLIVE004) and Belgium duo Marching Machines.

According to the Merriam-Webster Dictionary, “demonomania” can be defined as “a delusion of being possessed by evil spirits”. The condition has surely not affected the lads but the same cannot be said of their synths: The sonority they conveyed sounds fiendish and infernal – undoubtedly, the dance floor will say thanks!

Premiered here, Leonor’s crushing remix of “Taste Of Your Mushroom”: In his interpretation, the mayor of Tournus opted for a darker instead of a more percussive (and characteristic) atmosphere, investing in a fatter bassline and ominous synth layers – the dance floor will also certainly say thanks!

In mathematics, the distance between two points in space is equal to the length of the segment of the line that joins them. On the 11th release of the almighty Spanish label Side UP Works, young and skilled producers Javier Martinez (SXDNS104) & Undefined Pattern’s (SXDNS197) definition of "distance" goes beyond cold numbers. The lads invite us to let ourselves be absorbed by a black hole full of riding basses, omnipresent sparkling percussions, deep corporeal synth lines, and voices from beyond coming from another galaxy. The magnificent remixes come through the minds of Montessori, Fabio Me Llaman Soltero (SXDNS187), and Vongold. 

The track we were requested to premiere brings creative Mexican artist Montessori reinventing “Distancia” and dropping a dancing jewel with a contagious bassline and booming spirit with which you will not be able to avoid feeling yourself on a roller coaster of frequencies and enveloping sounds. With previous works found on acclaimed labels such as Ombra International, Dogs & Vultures, Wonder Stories, Roam, Playground, and Logical, Montessori delivers a high-quality seal to the already unmissable release.

Stockholm Syndrome - Life (On Life's Terms) DaWad remix

John Parsley (@johnparsley) makes his first appearance on Playground Records (@playgroundrecords) to mark an Ep that kicks the board and leaves a musical riot of unusual dimensions. 3 originals and 2 remixes from Bird Of Paradise and Local Suicide & Time To Sleep giving a roam without letup.

It opens with ‘Coin Crash’, a dancefloor killer with all the letters. An infectious and tremendously addictive bass takes us out plowing in 5th gear, acid modulations pass through the sides leaving a technicolor trail. A break that continues long because an electro techno arpeggio enters on the fly and takes us by the teeth towards the deep trip section of the track. Ruthless.

‘High Life’ puts on the brakes and starts off with a suspenseful and rarefied atmosphere. Bells, curious modulations, immersive aquatic environment. The bass beats constant and right immersing us in a dense and thick musical structure. Distortion contrasts with cloudy pads of ethereal sounds that suspend us. A journey with very personal characteristics shows us that John Parsley is a different musician.

‘New Guardian’ is an intense and hung downtempo break. Following the conceptual line, the atmosphere of intrigue surrounded by acidic but melodic and percussive sounds is mixed with metallic modulations. The resonances open and the harmonics distort, opening the pores of the skin. A dreamlike environment takes hold and shoots hallucinatory images of an expanded and exploded reality. The ears are excited, electronic music of connection towards other vibrational dimensions.

Bird of Paradise is the first guest to make a remix and gives us a different version of ‘Coin Crash’, although equally club bomb, he offers us a completely different soundscape. Supported by the bass of the original they take us on a journey of crossed chord keyboards but totally harmonic in their dissonances. A ping pong of a constant acid modulation that opens and closes towards the sides makes us move our heads without respite. Tasty sweet and sour.

For an unbeatable closure the Ep has as remixers of “High Life” the Local Suicide duo accompanied by Time To Sleep. Adding dark and gloomy vowels, a huge flying electro comes out, cruising through the galaxy. Polished and elegant black, sober but glamorous, it moves slowly and takes us to a state of awe. A song that deserves to be played in clubs because it is made to thunder great soundsystems, hypnotizing the masses.
