The 5th installment of the Reptilian Mixes marks a change in the series, as for the first time in the Blockbuster franchise, the main protagonist is not a Reptilian, but a Doggo. Not just your usual good boï, but simply the best. 

Rafon (@rafon27) and the crew go way back. The mattress king quickly became a roommate, a best mate, a partner in parties, and co-host of Mulack Space Mixes. During these years we witnessed @ordinateuf co-founder translate his passion for music into pure dedication. First into digging, then into mixing, and through all that, into good old partying. Along the way, this work paid off, and this mix is the expression of it. 

It’s groovy, moody, and gets you slowly but surely into that kinky house frenzy you just wish huge speakers would blast in the morning hours of a dirty club. The mix is as aced as the Rafon aces his pasta: with tension, love, and style. He got the secret recipe, and oh boy it’s a good one: the mix « à la Rafon ». You’re going to ask for a refill, with extra tunes. And Parmigiano.

Saturday Chillin'

In the far north of Colombia, all the way along the Caribbean coast, you can find one of the world's best hostels called El Rio. This magnificent place is co-run by Ben Davies who left the north of the UK a decade ago in search of sun, snakes and waterfalls.

One element that makes El Rio special is that, since its inception, underground clubbing and electronic music have been central to the project. This manifests as endless club nights, riverside sunrises (and mornings), and the groundbreaking Bonanza festival, a happening that brings together the very best of Colombian, South American and global underground electronic dance music acts, all co-curated by Ben and Adi    

Ben Davies also deejays under the name Benny. His UK roots are never far away, which is something you will hear in this brand new Basic Moves mix, recorded live on Sunday evening of this year’s edition of Bonanza. I was on the dancefloor the whole time and when, a couple of months ago, Benny told me the set was recorded, it was a no-brainer to put it out on the Basic Moves platform.

Snakes, waterfalls and a lot of techno, breaks, trance and acidic goodies … just how we like it … give it up for Benny!

The third offering in our mix series is a live recording of Priori and Cousin's dj set at Sustain Release 2024. Recorded on the last morning between 6am and 1pm on what was meant to be an ambient stage, it featured everything a 3 day festival closing set should. Eclectic picks, strange and emotional sounds, dubious transitions and a few feigned endings. In addition to the vast array of tracks, labels, events, DJ sets, radio shows, and blogs produced by our gifted family members, we also run our own special weekly show. For nearly 3 years, the Disco Waltons Sunday Service has been going out every Sunday 9-11pm (UK time) on NDC Radio. Each week a member of our fam hosts the show and invites an incredible guest to join them. We now have over 100 shows under our belt, with mixes from wonderful guests including heavyweights such as Greg Wilson, Michael Gray, Moplen, Derrick McKenzie, plus many emerging DJs and producers.
