Howdy! 

Four years after the last Console release “Mono” it’s time for some new vivid life signs of the famous Weilheim based collective. This time the new album titled “Herself” is a bit more of a solo attempt. Due to mastermind Martin Gretschmann’s always packed calendar it’s no surprise that first drafts of „Herself“ came to life on his laptop whilst on tour with The Notwist. The final recordings then took place in his studio together with singer Miriam Osterrieder and a bunch of electronic toys.

Disko B wurde 1991 von Peter Wacha aka Upstart als Sublabel des Independent Labels Sub Up Records (F.S.K., Die Goldenen Zitronen, etc.) gegründet; damals noch unter dem Namen "Disko Bombs“. In den 90er Jahren zählte Disko B mit international anerkannten Künstlern wie DJ Hell, Acid Scout, I-F oder Dakar & Grinser zu den weltweit renommiertesten Labels für elektronische Musik. Im Windschatten der Disko B Struktur entwickelten sich um das Jahr 2000 herum auch das Künstlerlabel Chicks On Speed Records sowie DJ Hells Gigolo Records. Mit dem Signing von Künstlern wie Stereo Total, Console, Electronicat oder Schlachthofbronx hat sich Disko B im Laufe der Nullerjahre zu einem eklektischen Label entwickelt, für das keinerlei Genregrenzen mehr gelten.
