We are happy to announce the Debut EP of the Berlin based band duo YEAH BUT NO. „The Shadow Self“ is an album project from the newly assembled band who’s declared aim is to allow its listeners a deeper understanding of music. The multilayered sound savours the melancholic spectrum; deeper and darker tones set the perfect stage for profound lyrics. 

„Electronic music is our background.“, Alex says. „We linked classic song structures with distinctive, immersive sounds that open up a world for Fabian’s lyrics.“ The lyrics capture perfectly these fragile, dark emotions that move us unconsciously - may it be the loss of love, disappointment or an unhealthy, dark obsession. 

The original version of „Perished“  and „Curse“ are accompanied by remix version from no one less than Trikk and Mathias Schober.  The internationally acclaimed producer and DJ Trikk - not only known for his work with Dixon & Âme’s Innervisions label, but also as a representative of the next generation of underground house music - hits the nail on the head with his interpretation of „Perished“. Keeping the melancholic mood of the original, he managed to create a super catchy and grooving 4-to-the-floor version. The remix is already being hyped since its first plays on DJ’s sets from Dixon, Mind Against, Denis Horvat, Agoria, Adriatique, Alex Niggemann & Trikk himself.

Mathias Schober is an artist artist with an exceptional sense of clarity and presence in his work. His reworks of „Curse“ lay to focus on the vocal and create a stripped back, spacious and dub influenced fundamental. The instrumentation eerie enough to accompany the lyrics, the groove strong enough to work on its own.
 
The album "The Shadow Self“ is released in several parts on DISTANT ECHOS  - a new label that defines itself as a bastion of quality and a broad musical variety with leanings towards Electronica and Neo Pop. The label kicked off their journey with the debut EP from Maltese Duo KNTRL “JUST WORDS“, which was released on the 6th of August.

Putting the YOU into unity: Re.You’s Younion returns for the first excursion of 2022 with longstanding friends Eins Tiefer. 
Mainstays on the collective stable since its inaugural 001 VA way back in 2016, the duo have played a role and had a presence on almost every Younion release so far. ‘Sunscreen’, however, is by far their biggest dispatch for the label to date. 
Three fantastical originals and one remix from the label founder, each cut takes us far away from reality, capturing our emotions and imaginations with every startling dynamic. ‘Sunscreen’ takes the lead with cosmic broken beats, sweeping spacey textures and a cult spoken word vocal that’s loaded with so many lines of wisdom it’s almost overwhelming (especially if you’re old enough to remember it the first time around) It’s backed up by a beautiful remix from Re.You himself. Following up to his 2020-released sophomore album "Idiosynkrasia", Tim Engelhardt reemerges on Stil vor Talent with his new single, "Firestorm". Putting forth the widescreen poetic vision that has been flowing across his previous releases with an ever-fresh and adventurous approach, this Janus-faced new iteration from Tim fuses two distinct facets of the producer's output - one darker, more subdued, the other out-there and solar. 

Rolling hips with unabashed swagger, "Momentary" paves the way with a balanced mix of martial marching rhythms and floating keyboard melody tinged with a touch of Oriental chords. Slowly but surely hatching into a bespoke big-room churner as bars run by, the track offers moments of graceful escapism while steadily fanning the groove's flames so the fire doesn't go out, ever. Subtle yet grandiose, a piece of masterly executed electronics that definitely lacks no emotional power of agility.
