For pretty much the whole year I’m either headed towards or away from Burning Man. 

Each year out there there’s this moment in space and time where I feel perfectly balanced between the two. It’s a moment where time stands still, just for a second. 

That moment is when the first ember of the day’s sun peaks over the mountain top to begin its journey once more. 

I try to find a piece of music to express the feeling of stillness and presence I get.  This year the sun was kind enough to arrive 1 hour 28 minutes and 40 seconds into this mix. I was in awe. I’m still in awe.

Some of the magic of the playa for me is where the nature blends with boundless creativity. Where love meets wonder and we get to laugh, dance and play. Add a dash of music for good measure and, for a moment, that magic catches its breath to take it all in, and stands still.

2024 was one of my favorite years ever. Thank you to all you artists and lovers, cooks and cuddlers. To all those who toil for months before and after to make it happen and to anyone who gave anything to another. You’re all amazing. I’m currently headed back towards (or is it away from) that moment once more.

Lee Burridge - Robot Heart - Burning Man 2024

“Any experience, whether musical or not, at Burning Man always has something unique and special about it. Even though it happens every year, no two are ever the same. In fact, as it becomes a tradition, there’s a sense of trust and expectation that makes the moment always breathtaking. That’s exactly how I feel about my performance at Pink Mammoth. I truly feel like part of the family — because of the way they treat me and how deeply connected I feel to this tribe.

This year, two magical things happened during the gig. First, the arrival was epic. I had to cross the playa during one of the biggest dust storms I’ve seen at Burning Man in my eight years there. At times, it literally turned to night. My friends, despite being completely exhausted on Sunday and facing harsh conditions, didn’t let anything stop them from showing up to support me. Amazing!

Second, a mix-up in the set times caused my session to overlap with the wonderful Sinca's. Neither of us were big fans of doing a B2B, especially since we hadn’t built a prior connection, and it was the first time we were meeting! But the connection was instant, and the magic unfolded as we synced through music from the very first second, feeling completely at ease throughout the process.

Cry For Me (ALEE edit)

I like to imagine sometimes where the music will travel to. Who it will be given to or shared with. Whether it will be played at an after party in London or listened to on a set of headphones while watching the sun rise from behind a mountain in Tibet. I wonder which tracks you'll fall in love with instantly and which will grow on you as time passes. 

I know this is a really long mix and the journey into it and out the other side takes some commitment but, on the plus side, it saves you having to look for anything else to play for ages and ages.

 I hope you love the tracks as much as I do and thanks for listening.

Lee Burridge - Requiem For A Daydream

"2018 at BM was only my second burn and after my first (4 years prior) I did not think it could get any better… But this year somehow was 100 times better! I think this was due to camping with the amazing Pink Mammoth crew and family. Arriving there a few days early to help set up was incredible to acclimatise and hang out. So many people at PM are already close friends, but this year I met loads of new people who, I can now call family. 

At my first BM I also played at PM, although none of us can work out how I ended up playing there specifically haha! We think Derek knew I was coming and asked if I would like to play. Thankfully he did, because I instantly fell in love with the camp and playing there. Four years on, (and playing many times for PM at their events) it felt like coming home. Its so satisfying playing somewhere where you feel completely relaxed to play what you want to play, in a perfect environment.  

This set also was made extra special by an amazing (pre planned) marriage proposal mid set between Harrison and Felicity. Harrison had told me a couple days prior that my song “In Love” was one of his and Felicity's favourite songs that they shared together. He wanted to propose and asked if I could play the song for them whilst he did so. I of course was completely honoured so myself and Harrison arranged that I would play it mid set, about an hour in and would give him a nod to signal it. With his broken ankle (he’d broken it just a day prior!), they both climbed up onto the speaker, and to Felicity’s surprise, just as “In Love” started to come in, he proposed in front of the whole crowd! Of course she said yes ;)

So you’ll hear in this mix the volume dip at the start of “In Love”, which is a lovely memento forever recorded in this mix! Hope you all enjoy! Tim.”
