Welcome to the Lock-IN. This is what happens behind closed doors, a space to showcase both our resident brands, local selectors and upcoming and unsigned talent that regular grace our booth, to keep you both gassed for these nights and to put some limelight on the boundless selectors that make up the scene here and showcase some of the sound our little bar has to offer. There is something for everyone here, with Garage to Disco, Breaks to Minimal. We cater for everyone with a essence on the underground sound. You can catch pretty much all these DJs performing at our venue at some point over the year so this gives you a true capture of the sound of Distrikt and our artists and their events. For as long as there has been dance music in Dublin, there has been techno. The city's affair with the genre runs as deep today as it did back-in-the-day, when out of the depths of Parnell Street came D1 Recordings, beginning a journey that lead to music-making, clubs, citywide festivals — an adventure that has proved it possible to create world-class music, specifically a unique and influential genre of Dublin-based electronic music, with a self-determined ethic and a global reach.

Founded by Eamonn Doyle, D1’s maverick approach is the stuff of legend and rather than let it go untold, St. Patrick's Festival are proud to mark 25 years of D1 Recordings and its impact on the city, its dance floors, musicians and all those touched by D1’s vision and ambition, here and abroad. A six-piece vinyl album set featuring 55 new tracks from 45 Irish and international artists, “D1×25”, will be launched at Hen's Teeth Gallery on Friday 15th March, and then the celebrations will continue over the weekend, culminating with a full takeover of Yamamori and Tengu, with a night full of music from D1 Recordings’ artists, over 3 areas, featuring 20 live acts & DJ's.

We are still kicking it with the killer mixes as we take you on a deep and grooving hour of minimal techno and trippy deep house from Karis. 

Always trying to encompass elements of nostalgia into her set's. Her aim is to move people with her music with sets that consist of infectious grooves infused with acid and punchy percussion, her sounds are matched by her boundless energy in the booth.
The past 7 years have seen her go from strength to strength earning her stripes in 2013 playing for 'Housewife London' and other underground parties including 'Sub:terranea', 'Schwein & Badornment', 'Limit', 'Get Together', 'System & Set One Twenty' and hosting her own party whynot? for a time. Playing alongside artists such as Cinthie, D'julz and Ida Engberg.

In 2018 she continued to build a name for herself playing at MiNT Warehouse - Dirty Disco, alongside Derrick Carter & Jasper James. Not to mention her MiNT Club debut amongst other great line-ups inc techno royalty, Ben Llock, Chris Liebing & Molly. She's also played MiNT Festival in 2018 & 2019, not forgetting possibly her biggest gig to date closing for OCTAVE ONE at Sheaf St!
In 2019 she relentlessly chased the dream, playing on Soho Radio and Securing more gigs at MiNT/ System, supporting Dyed Soundorom, Enzo Siragusa & Rich Nxt. She was asked to play at some new parties too inc, Moonunit, Sueno & Ruckas, supporting big headliners inc Steve Lawler, Burkski & Josh Baker. 2019 also saw Karis make her Welsh debut playing for Westival and she rounded off the year off making her Boombox Circus debut supporting Marshall Jefferson!!
She also celebrated the 3rd anniversary and said goodbye to her own club brand Whynot, in pursuit of other creative projects. Starting out at Project London Radio and a new residency with Manchster based anima.

About today’s artist:

An up & coming producer based in the UK - Nanonoise has been forging a reputation as a selector and producer.

Born and raised in Belgium, their musical journey started some 7 years ago. His productions and sets have gained various influences from deep/minimal house, minimal techno, old school acid/trance, and triphop.

The sound that he distils from this is a deep and dubby sound, varying from more introspective to trancey and ecstatic sounding tracks that evoke a feeling of joy and melancholy.

With releases on platforms such as podvodo record and Red District - Nanonoise's discography showcases a versatile and experimental approach to production - weaving electronica, summery house and captivating breakbeats.
