1. How would you describe your sound?

“We' don't like to describe our sound because we self-define quite Ecletic as producers...we have not a particvoular trademark on our sounds but we like to experiment all we like...from proper old school vibes to most Deep House and Underground...and try to melt everything in one!”

2. Where would you love to play live?

“The place we are dreaming to play one day definitely is Ushuaia on Ibiza. We love the people and we love that beautiful scenography from Arena, as well as their soundsystem. We would also love to play at the legendary New York's Cielo or at the Watergate in Berlin. We hope one day will be the day!”

3. Next Release?

“Our next releases we scheduled for early 2015 are a single on our Imprint "Safe Music" in January and an EP on Riva Starr's label “Snatch! Records” (release date tba) as well as some remixes for Dino Lenny and David Herrero. But we worked hard, so prepare for a surprise in 2015! Follow us on our socials to stay up to date.”

4. How did you learn producing?

"Honestly we learned everything ourselves, simply to take a lot of cues from many masters of this world as "Kenny Dope, Todd Terry, Dennis Ferrer, Maw” and more. We obviously learned many things about software and hardware by watching some video-tutorials. But it doesn’t really matter where and how u made the sounds. What does matter is the final result!"

5. Favorite track at the moment/all time?

"Yeah nice question. Definitely two of our most favorite tracks all time are "Brighter Days (Underground Goodie Mix)” by Cajmere and the legendary song of Marshall Jefferson "Move Your Body" which we reworked in 2011 and which was licensed on Ultra Records with all official reworks that year."

6. Favorite Dj Setup?

"Our favorite DJ setup was and still is the classic Dj setup: Mixer + 2 CDJs, because we love the real contact to the music (that only CDJs or Vinyls can give you). No digital interfaces, no FX Machines. Our sets are simple and the importang thing to us is the selection of tracks and the technique of mixing them. We think that we will never abandon using CDJs or Vinyls."

7. What keeps you going?

"Well, of course our real passion towards this music is one of the most substantial reasons that are keeping us in the business. There are a lot of up’s and down’s but if you’re 100% loving the music, nothing and nobody can stop you!"

“Tresor, Berlin - Act: PET DUO
135 bpm, but strangely enough it was not annoying. The only thing I perceived were the silhouettes and the techno. Another world.”

3. Digital Audio Workstation?

“FL Studio. I started using Ableton when I was younger though. I switched to FL Studio since the interface was more clear to me so I got into it and I’m still using it today.”

4. Where would you love to play?

“The Loft, Ludwigshafen”

5. What music do you listen to besides electronic music?

“Oldschool Hip Hop”

6. What you can’t stand?

“Soft club speakers”

7. What do you think about DIT KLINGT JUT?

“In my opionion DKJ is a really nice opportunity for Deep House lovers and creators to share their passion. I like the diversity and the multi-cultural influence of sounds and artists. “

1. Next Release?

“On the 26th January, we’re going to have two single releases. One on Erase with our friend Klos called «That’s My Word» and one on Sleazy G called «That Dope» featured on a special release including Vanilla Ace & Doug English.”

2. Where would you love to play live?

“We would say Warung Beach Club or Ministry Of Sound but honestly the main thing is to play for people who like what you are doing, no matter where you are.”

3. Dream collab?

“We are playing & producing in different styles but we would love to work with producers like Kolombo, Amine Edge & DANCE or Justin Martin.”

4. Who will considerably give direction to the deep house scene soon?

“There is probably more than one but we would name Shiba San, Tim Baresko or Ryan Blyth and some labels like Cuff or maybe ours, House Of Hustle, at least we hope so.”

5. What do you think about DIT KLINGT JUT ?

“DKJ is a really good initiative, kinda one that is truly important for the music industry and underground artists like us.”

6. Most exciting club moment?

“When you are playing your tracks and you see the crowd smiling and going nuts on it! But yeah, anytime you can feel that the people like what you are playing, the moment is exciting.”

7. What makes dance music so special to you?

“We love it cause this is the kind of music that can make people forget about all their daily problems and cause its aim is just to make people happy and having a good time.”

1. How would you describe your sound?

“As a producer I produce nu disco/indie dance and house. My music is a mixture of house, funk, disco and electro, with a little French touch with a little deep tech house flavour sometime.”

2. What is your trademark?

“I always use 70’s disco elements in my music, and I guess my bass sound is quite unique too.”

3. Next release?

“My new releases are the following:

4. How did you learn producing?

“In the 90’s I played live rock music. Originally I’m a guitar player. When electronic acts like The Prodigy and The Chemical Brothers were topping the charts in the mid 90’s I was amazed by them, and started build my own home studio. I started to produce music on the computer around 2000. I learnt everything by myself.”

5. What keeps you going?

“Faith in music. I also always believe that I can make better and better music than I did before.”

6. Digital Audio Workstation?

“Cubase. I started on Cubase and Nuendo. Now I use Cubase 7 with Propellerhead Reason Rewire.”

7. What makes dance music so special to you?

“I love to make experiences and changes in sound. Dance music always changes its way, and it makes me feeling comfortable, because I don’t have to do the same thing on and on.”

8. What do you listen besides electronic music?

“Mostly funk and disco from the 70’s. All my favourite producers are from that era. Besides I love classic rock music too.”

What was the intention behind your set?
"I recorded this set at the CLITCAT Pride After Party and it was a lot of fun! Also love is a important factor in my life right now, so this influenced the set for sure as well a bit."

What was your most significant club / festival moment?
"Maybe because it’s fresh, but playing Acid Bogen for the first time was a awesome experience"

Solo or b2b? And why?
"I love playing b2b‘s since they are my favorite way of learning new things on the decks. Also it is fun to adapt to music, you usually don’t play. "

Favorite release at the moment & of all times?
"The best release at the moment is DIM KELLY & Mondingo - Homily, my all time favorite is maybe Martin Den Hollander - Breathe!"

MINI-INTERVIEW

What was the intention behind your set?
In podcasts or live DJ sets, I always try to express my current mood and incorporate all the musical influences that inspire me. It's less about the mixing technique and more about the atmosphere and the storytelling and especially the closing of the set. I try to keep it deep and combine hypnotic/trippy with emotional sounds. In this set are some tracks I played at Zugvøgel Festival this summer, where I've been a resident for a few years now. I got this as a little present for everyone who was sad that I haven't uploaded the live recording yet.

What was your most significant club / festival moment?
In 2019 I played the closing set on Zamonien Floor at Zugvøgel Festival and at the end of the set I could hear and see people in front of the stage completely falling apart with their emotions. Between laughing and crying with joy. The Dj Booth was full of my dearest friends and I can't remember a moment where I didn't have goosebumps. Light, decoration, people. Everything was just right

Favorite release at the moment & of all times?
Even though it was released a while ago, I discovered the track Beatamines & Stephan Zovsky – The Island (Dole&Kom Remix) this year. I really love this organic and driving sound of the track! 
All Time Fav is hard!
Melancholic sound influences me a lot and if it's danceable to it, then it's perfect for me. I have played the track in a lot of closing tracks and therefore I would choose Skena – Too Late (Original Mix).

FAUXPAS presents "Synaptic Shift," a journey into new sonic realms that marks a pivotal turning point in their musical evolution. After intensive years in indie dance, where they crafted their unique style, they now dare to venture into the deep, hypnotic spheres of psy-tech.

What was the intention behind your set?

"Synaptic Shift" represents more than just a genre shift—it’s a rewiring of the mind, a shift in perception. With dark, driving basslines, shimmering synths, and pulsating rhythms, FAUXPAS creates a soundscape that moves both body and mind. This set invites you to let go, open your mind, and embark on a journey between dimensions.

What was your most significant club / festival moment?

That was clearly our first festival gig in 2022 at the Feel Festival.
Before us, a group played with a completely different sound than ours, bringing a totally different vibe to the floor.
Of course, we were a bit nervous, but once we realized that our sound was well received by the crowd, smiles started spreading, hips began shaking, and the pressure lifted. We were able to fully enjoy the experience. It was truly wonderful!

Spotlight 029 | FAUXPAS "Synaptic Shift"

We are happy to welcome @granular-heat for the next part of our spotlight series!

Granular Heat is a 29 years old Melodic Techno DJ and Producer out of Hamburg in the north of Germany. His signature sound is a blend between Melodic Techno and Progressive House with emotional breaks, characteristic vocals and rhytmical basses and synthesizers.
 
What was the intention behind your set? 
With my DIT KLINGT JUT set i want to express my style in playing music. I want to take the people with me on a musical journey through time and space and tell them my story with the songs i choosed. My sets are known for emotional breaks and vocal parts, which are there to close the eyes and to take a deep breath, before the next drop will hit in. So I hope I make the listeners dance and I can leave a smile on their faces.
 
This set is filled with my favorite releases of the year 2024, songs of really good friends of mine and also own unreleased music.
 
What was your most significant club / festival moment?
My most significant club moment was my set in the club Zimmer in Mannheim, where I took in December 2024 over from Kevin de Vries to play the closing set of the night. Kevin was one of the artist, with who my love for Melodic Techno started, so it was a special moment to share the decks with him.
 
Favorite release at the moment & of all times?
Right now: Goom Gum - Staccato EP

The art of music has touched the hearts of human beings around the planet for thousands of years. It's a universal language with the ability to express what can't be expressed through words or thought. It can induce strong emotions, alter our states of consciousness and let us experience reality in a different way. It can draw us into the present moment, where just the music exists - unfolding through time, moment by moment. When we let go and merge into the auditory sensations, it takes us on an inner journey. Using this not to escape, but to fully embrace reality as it is, music can help us release tensions and bring balance to our everyday life. 
Especially dance music allows us to unify with the flow of the music. When we express the energy it releases within us, by just giving ourselves to it and following the spontaneous and authentic movements of our bodies, we can experience a state of connection, peace and joy. Doing this collectively, synchronously moving to the same rhythm and sharing this special experience, we feel a connection that resonates within.

With DIT KLINGT JUT we want to express our love for music and manifest the meaning it can have for all of us. We do this by providing a thoughtfully curated space for artists and labels to share their music, organizing events & live-streams and serving as a platform to share ideas on music and the creative process.
