Influenced by early hip hop culture Dave Sims started djing in 1986 mixing and scratching hip hop and funk breaks after being influenced by Grandmaster Flash,Bambaataa,DJ Cheese,Double D and Steinski;s lessons etc, this led on to buying a 4-track tape recorder and creating break mixes and hip hop tracks with local mc's,and playing at local parties. 
In about 1989 started going to raves and clubs like the Dungeon,Crypt, Telepathy and then later Paradise club (AWOL) and getting into house and early breakbeat ,djing at parties and raves staying with the music as it evolved through hardcore,jungle to drum and bass.. 
In 1996 started making tunes with DevParadox recording as “Nucleus “ releasing various12" and lp tracks of dark jazzfunkbreakbeat inspired dnb.,and deeper ambient tracks on various leading dnb labels including Reinforced, Goodlooking ,Metalheadz,Offshore,Paradox music,Arctic music.. 
Also staying with hiphop in 2000 releasing 2 BBoy break mixtapes with Break Dj Leacy,which have become classics in BBoy circles worldwide. 
2002 saw the creation of "Esoteric", a label exclusively for Nucleus/ Paradox material.which is going strong into its 19th release getting excellent reviews and regular plays by many of the scenes top djs including Goldie,Flight,Marky,Marcus Intalex.,Loxy. . 
As well as djing drum and bass Dave always stayed with his roots playing and collecting,funk,disco,b-beats,hip hop,house,jazz,broken beat ,afro,latin,etc,and has played at various events in Germany,France,Holland,Hungary,United States,Russia,Croatia,Australia,Switzerland,Norway,Estonia,Finland and can also be found playing more of a deep house/disco sound at various clubs/bars/parties in London.

Launched by Ruffhouse and Gremlinz in 2015, UVB-76 Music has established itself as a leader in the field of underground sonic art, releasing a markedly consistent series of 12” singles, EPs and LP's.

With an intimidating stable of key recording artists including Ruffhouse, Gremlinz, Pessimist, Holsten, Overlook, Outer Heaven, Karim Maas, Clarity and VEGA appearing at events worldwide, UVB-76 Music has articulated a cohesive original sound matched to a visual identity created and curated by artist James Hewitt.

The label continues to operate at the cusp of identification playing a line between Drum & Bass, Techno and an unidentifiable mid-way. As consistent as its namesake, echoing covert communications and unspoken espionage.

Matos + Lovelace joined forces in the San Francisco Bay Area in 2011. Their creative synergy and mutual love of Drum & Bass and Jungle music was a powerful force that could not be ignored. Naturally, a joint effort was inevitable. They push the sound and work hard, playing some of the largest DnB nights in the USA, including Respect LA; Stamina SF; United D&B, Substructure, & Torque in Florida; BP², Natural Selection, NYC Jump Up!, and Konkrete Jungle in New York City; Sub.mission in Denver; Organized Grime in San Diego, etc. Matos + Lovelace have shared the stage with international artists such as Top Cat, Liondub, Heist, Sub Zero, Marcus Visionary, Cyantific, Total Science, John B, Lemon D, Dillinja, and much North American talent.  In 2015 the duo also played their first international gigs in Costa Rica and Hong Kong, China, as well as a guest appearance on the mighty KoolLondon.com. Matos + Lovelace take pride in their excellent mixing skills and unique selection flow that always takes the dancefloor on a powerful journey through the sounds of DnB and Jungle music, whether playing to seasoned junglists or fresh ears alike.
While living on Maui in 2012/13, they launched Destination Jungle as a platform for the sound on the island, hosting US and international talent such as Marcus Visionary, Ben Soundscape, Calculon,  Tankman, and Jaybee. After relocating to the New York area in 2014, Matos + Lovelace also expanded Destination Jungle to a radio show, where they and special guests spread the sound worldwide. In 2015 Matos + Lovelace were welcomed in the renowned BP² crew in NYC. Now their creative synergy is going to the next level... the recording studio! Stay tuned...
Matos is an original resident of Camouflage NYC, and Lovelace an original resident of Sub.mission Hawaii, a subchapter of Sub.mission Denver. Lovelace is also a member of DnB Girls.
