The Heartless Badboys saga reaches volume number three: this time the Numa Crew gang delivers the VIP versions of the best sellers tracks from the previous Heartless Badboys EPs.

The journey starts with a futuristic rework of the most acclaimed tune of the series: ‘Broka VIP’. The track, featuring the voice of XL Mad, is transformed in a crossover of uk garage and breakbeat, combined with heavy dubstep basslines. 

Then arrives ‘Automatic Soul VIP’ by Lapo, a heavier version made of deep pounding bass, rolling drums and spacey atmospheres. This one is certified material made for the 140 heads. 

Around the corner comes out ‘Juju VIP’ by Leon P and Ago, this time with a more aggressive attitude than the original version. All elements are taken to the extreme: the jungle breaks are saturated and combined with analog distorted basslines and nasty wobbles. 

‘Heartless Badboys’ VIP (Pressure Mix)’ by T-Kay is the final stage of the release. 
T-Kay flips the original half-tempo rhythm to a weighty and rolling drum’n’bass tune, holding the iconic speech that gave this series its name.

Following their much loved NTS radio shows and parties of the same name, re:ni and Laksa have announced a brand new label - RE:LAX.

On ‘Body Score’ Laksa continues to traverse the same 150bpm territory as his releases for Hessle Audio and Timedance, but here we also find influences from his job as a social worker.

Early support from the likes of Pearson Sound, Zenker Brothers, Darwin and Om Unit.

[EYX016] 'Last Laugh' - Preview Clips:

Following their outstanding appearance on Kindergarten Records VA Fluo III, Brooklyn-based DJ and producer Martini debuts on Early Reflex with their first EP titled ‘Last Laugh’.

Touching sonic landscapes adjacent to Leftfield Techno, Dubstep and Electro, Martini explores in their 4-tracker the power to impact on both body and mind through their immersive sound achieved by a precise manipulation of timbre and rhythm from the American producer.

Title track ‘Last Laugh’ opens the journey into Martini’s world with syncopated beats and its punch kick surrounded by warped effects and a texture of arpeggiated synthesisers.
Mood and BPMs shift into electro-mode in’If I Don’t Laugh I’ll Cry’ a heavy distorted synth signals to the listeners that an explosive beat is about to drop.
The dance keeps going on and on with ‘Chaste’ which follows next, a wormhole of incessant kick-drums, pitch-shifting effects and punchy-basses.
The atmospherical state of‘Serendipity’ close the sonic journey into Martini’s world, where mind-twisting pads and undistinguishable vocals pre-announce the landing on an extraterrestrial dub-heavy “sonosphere”.

Martini said:
“This EP represents my deep interest in expressing convoluted emotions and narratives through the precise manipulation of timbre and rhythm. I’m fascinated by the power sound has over your mind and body despite the level of abstraction it can exhibit, which I try to exploit by carefully crafting each sound.”

Martini - Chaste

Objekt launches his new label, Kapsela, with a 10-year anniversary reissue of his lauded production ‘Ganzfeld’. An ambitious, evocative electro/IDM epic with cavernous drums and a riotously funky bass solo, Ganzfeld was initially released in 2014 on Leisure System as the B-side of Hypnagogia, a split EP with Detroit electro pioneers Dopplereffekt. It quickly garnered critical acclaim (including Track Of The Year by Resident Advisor) and amassed a cult following despite clocking in at 147bpm, a relatively unwieldy tempo for most DJs at the time. Given the seismic shifts in tempo and genre that have taken place in the 10 years since and the emergence of a new generation of producers with whom Ganzfeld’s influence has resonated, 2024 seemed like the perfect moment for a re-release.

Commissioning remixes for the first time, Objekt enlists Djrum, who delivers a jaw-dropping 10-minute rendition which weaves through multiple genres and tempos with the cinematic flair of a short film score. Milan’s Piezo contributes a taut, prickly interpretation that builds tension at 80bpm before exploding into a cathartic double-time closer. Finally, US ambient artist Ulla fully deconstructs the original into a serene, undulating lullaby.
