S.O.T.A. (Nu-Disco & Edits 10/21)

Once again, dear listeners we venture back into the Samosa Funk kitchens, airing exclusively on New York's  myhouseradio.fm with Michelin Star Producer / DJ duo De Gama and Les Inferno cooking up the Funk Sliders and Confit of Groove - served with a bottle of vintage Italian Spinasanta. 

De Gama was preparing and serving delicious antipasti and primo dishes from Firefly, Soulphication, Bah Samba, Moodena, Louie Vega and Lex & Locke amongst other tasty bits to tantalise your taste buds and aural receivers. 

Then for ‘the secondi’, Les Inferno has something for all dietary requirements and palates. Specials tonight include ‘Hubert Laws’ Linguine, Tavares Dolcelatte Pizza (with or without walnuts), Chaka Khan Skewers with Gremolata or LTJ Exchange Lamb Stew. Take your pick!

Yam Who? is the internationally known alter ego of the disco producer Andy Williams. One of the most consistent DJ’s on the circuit, every weekend you’ll find him rocking the dance floor at clubs & festivals around the globe including Glitterbox, Lovebox, Ministry Of Sound, Horse Meat Disco, Love International.

He’s featured on line ups with the world’s finest selectors including Greg Wilson, Joey Negro, Melvo Baptiste, Tiger & Woods, Purple Disco Machine & Danny Krivit.

Ambitious & tirelessly active alongside his partner in crime Tom Laroye they are signed to Glitterbox Recordings as Qwestlife. Having already released 2 chart busting singles ‘Give Me A Minute’ & ‘Hit It Off’ they are set to unleash their block party rocker ‘Fever’ feat Sugarhill Gang, Melle Mel, Scorpio & Siedah Garrett.

Behind the creation of 3 record labels Midnight Riot, Black Riot & Ism, theyl have a diversity of sounds with a line-up of producers, DJ’s including the world’s finest Eli Escobar, Ron Basejam, Lenny Fontana, John Morales and many more. On the night of the Graduation Ball people were saying that Jarvis Cocker was down at the front dancing and a few days later, I received a call from him saying he’d had a great time at the gig and he asked if Greg would be up for doing his stage at Festival No.6, which was very serendipitous given he was already going to be there for two gigs. It would be the perfect opening to what was a hugely enjoyable weekend.

Bio:
DJ BK started DJing in 1994 (Club Plastique) and has since had numerous club and bar residents in his hometown of Duisburg (Desperados) and its surroundings (Friday Night Club @ Kobra Moers). In 2022 he took the opportunity to DJ at an official ADE event in Amsterdam with great success.

Just before the pandemic, BK started a FB group called “The Art of Edits” and ever since he’s been specialising in creating edits-filled-mixes for SoundCloud, the most successful being his series “The Love Edits”, “Pop Art”and “Yacht or Not Edits”. 

BK and his wife Jasmin (@houseofJayKay) are members of the @DiscoWaltons family. Since the end of 2023 they are doing a bi-weekly live-radio-program "The Couple Show" on ndcradio.co.uk .
