As a prelude to the upcoming Soul:ution Room Two takeover on Friday 16th May, label boss Marcus Intalex and one of Manchester’s most reliable renegade emcees, DRS, have bumped consciousness and put together this, their ‘Mid Mic Crisis’ mix. Regular sparring partners in clubs the world over, DRS’ trademark measured Mancuian flow rides perfectly atop on Intalex’s soulful selection with his baritone delivery sitting sweetly and filling out the dynamic range of the rolling selections which reportedly feature, in some form, material from DRS’ forthcoming second album, Mid Mic Crisis.

Basically it’s a glorious and specifically tailored 62 minute mixtape showcase of DRS’ potency as a host, an emcee and a vocalist. But it comes mixed by Intalex which more than hints at the level of quality it contains... two of Manchester's finest in sterling form.

so bad so deep so strong... LTJ live n direct @ Fabric Christmas eve 2005. As we approach the 10 year anniversary of the 10 year anniversary it seems fitting to upload this set. The first track is copied from later in the set (67m) so you get it twice - one of the best ever made - so deep n beautiful it brings tears to my eyes (serious flashbacks). Sadly the sound quality is poor - the MCs are too loud, the music too quite and too many rewinds for my liking, don't get me started... anyway great vibes and massive tracks.

If anyone has that first track in a good set please let me know, I've not heard it anywhere else. The original was special, the remix is beyond words, big up Omni Trio. 

If you're new to Bukem I seriously suggest you check out Progression Sessions 01, the best Bukem & Conrad mix set around. Big up the Good Looking crew for keepin it real since the early 90's.

Classic DJ Hype mix, the mysterious final instalment of the seminal Breakdown Drum & Bass Selection series; the other four are widely available but I've never seen this online before.

Had the original cassette of this, and a back-up, both of which got lost during a house move a decade ago, before I had a chance to rip them. Luckily I found a copy on mediafire a few months ago and thought it about time I do you all a favour :)

I was a working DJ/producer 1996-2001 (UK). Lover of electronic music since 1990. I use this site to share some of my mix tapes and the best mixes from other DJs that I've accumulated over the years. This is purely for entertainment, sharing and promoting good music.

I did produce some tracks back in 1998-2000 but only released a couple of EPs with DJ Relay under the names Low Profile & Two-Step2. We are getting back into production again as of 2020 and will be re-releasing some of our old and new tracks going forward, find our tracks on Juno, Beatport, Amazon, etc.
