Rita Morar is a versatile Fusion Singer, Songwriter and Live Performer.  

She has a  deep love of music with a unique sound that connects with others. A natural live performer who engages with her audience through her voice. Rita uses her voice to provide a fusion sound of singing in contemporary Hindi and  English.  Rita is also available for live performances and session recordings.

From a young age, music has always been an important part of Rita’s life. Whether it be devotional singing, playing the harmonium, learning the piano or having a great interest in a fusion of music from Bollywood to EDM, Rita continues to strive for a greater understanding in music.

 

With an experience including over 1,000 live performances and reaching an audience of over 1 million, Rita keeps on excelling in her art. Rita has performed for the BBC Radio Live Tabla Soul Sessions to the Jazz Cafe, Glastonbury and the Alchemy Festival.

Imagine a scene from a Bollywood movie smack in the middle of a thumping nightclub-swirling colors, the rhythm of pounding feet, & the relentless energy of brilliant beats - that's NON STOP BHANGRA!

Highlighting the ancestral roots of Punjabi dance while pushing boundaries with contemporary influences, Non Stop Bhangra is a genre-busting elixir of North Indian Bhangra music and dance, mixed with Reggae, Hip-Hop, and Electronica. An ever-evolving collective of dancers, DJs, drummers, vocalists, and musicians, Non Stop Bhangra is a non-stop party. Featuring dance lessons and performances with Dholrhythms Dance Company, and music by DJ Jimmy Love, the group has won legions of fans with its monthly events in San Francisco.  Dholrhythms Dance Company also promotes the artistic and cultural heritage of India with classes and workshops, providing a unique platform for people of diverse backgrounds to come together and dance in a positive environment. 

Non Stop Bhangra was founded in 2004 when Dholrhythms founders Vicki Virk and Suman Raj teamed up with DJ Jimmy Love with the goal of bringing Bhangra to a wider audience. The first Non Stop Bhangra was hosted to celebrate the one year anniversary of Dholrhythms by providing a dance space for students of Dholrhythms Bhangra classes. Since then, NSB has made this traditional style a serious dance floor craze in San Francisco, drawing the most diverse crowds to join in the frenzy. NSB is a destination, creating sold out nights and write-ups as one of the best dance floor nights in San Francisco.

In addition to the monthly event, the group has performed at some of the largest stages in the West Coast including San Francisco’s renowned Stern Grove Festival, TED XSF at Yerba Buena Center For the Arts, Goldman Environmental Prize Ceremony at War Memorial Opera House, Inaugration Ceremony of Mayor Ed Lee at SF City Hall, Michael Franti’s Power to the Peaceful in Golden Gate Park, New Mexico’s ¡Globalquerque!, Grand Performances in Los Angeles, Pasadena’s Levitt Pavilion, and Canada’s Salmon Arm Roots and Blues Festival and many more.

Dev7Nine aka Dev79 is a Los Angeles based (by way of Philadelphia) producer/DJ, who has been banging it out as an OG of the bass music underground. He effortlessly weaves elements of grime, garage, rap, and juke, among a plethora of other styles into a tapestry of urban music that he (along with lablemate Starkey) have dubbed “Street Bass.” 

With his original productions, remixes and collaborations, Dev7Nine takes you on a daring ride of emotions and flavors, that will urge you to let your body take control. Recently his music has been featured on releases by B.Yrslf Division, Made In Glitch, Street Bass Anthems 6, Street Bass Bootlegs 3, Songster game/app and more.

His ruckus inspiring DJ sets have made dance floors sweaty all across North America with a deep selection of bass heavy urban music. Has shared stages alongside acts such as Mayhem, Kastle, DJ Shiftee, AC Slater, Jackmaster, Jokers of the Scene, Girl Talk, Drop the Lime, Digital Mystikz, Plastician and Willy Joy.

The street bass sounds of 79 have seen featured coverage in XLR8R, Mixmag, URB Magazine, Mixpak, VIBE, Knowledge Mag, Complex, FACT, EDM Network and The Untz to name a few.

Starkey and Dev79 are the masterminds behind the Seclusiasis empire, as well as Slit Jockey Records with partner El Carnicero. These acclaimed labels have released artists such as Distal, J-Sweet, DNAEBEATS, Aquadrop, Mr. Mitch, Doshy and Knight Riderz.
