In Hour 2 we welcome back DJ Format alongside Phill Most Chill to celebrate the release of their album 'The Foremost'. DJ Format gives a run down of thier mix;

"Instead of doing yet another promo mix that incorporates a song or two from our new album, I thought it would be fun for me & Phill to each do a 30 minute mix of Hip Hop from our respective areas. I'm from Southampton, and since that's not a very big place I thought it would be more fitting to play some of my favourite old UK Hip Hop records. Philadelphia always had a healthy Hip Hop scene that boasted famous artists such as DJ Jazzy Jeff & Fresh Prince, Cash Money & Marvelous and Steady B just to name a few. Phill wanted to showcase some of the more obscure/random Rap records from Philly that he loves."

Melvins and The Jon Spencer Blues Explosion released their versions of the Leadbelly classic Black Betty on a split 7″ on Minneapolis based Amphetamine Reptile (http://www.amphetaminereptile.com).  Available since May from the label, as well as at shows on the JSBX tour, which began at the end of May.  The cover art for the sleeve is a lino-cut by Haze-XXL, and should be available as a print as well. No point in keeping an eye on the AmRep site for the this as it's long sold out.

Green eggs and swine , this was a song that was recorded for the derelicts of dialect album . Unfortunately this mix never made the album but was one of my favorites . The song is a bit too long but this was 1990 hip hop style production ..Hopefully you will enjoy the Prince Paul unreleased series ...

This is the original version of this song , I particularly liked this one because it was a little rougher than the one released.  I recorded vocals at Rza's studio and at Paul's Coffee shop LI . This version was replaced by the Mars Volta version on the "White People" album recorded at Automator's studio .

This is the First song we recorded as the Gravediggaz in 92" . It was the intro to our demo and it was actually recorded the day I introduced these guys to each other at my house . This track never made the album but It was one of my favorite productions. This was the track that started it all ..  RIP Poetic . Enjoy

This is a Song I did for Kane in 1989 which is the title track of his album " Its a Big Daddy Thing " . At this point in my career this was a big highlight to work with Kane and there was definitely a mutual respect for each others talents . This was our first time working together and I have to say Kane is truly genius a funny guy and a pleasure to work with . Listening back to this song I really wish I could have made the production better . Keep in mind this was just a rough mix , the better mixed version is on the album . Please share this . This is a project that I was asked to do I guess sometime in the early 2000's . It was a remix for a Bob James project . the idea was to take an existing piece of work and flip it . So this was my flip . I had Pete Miser come in and do some vocal snippets . I never knew what happened to the project but I did put a lot of work into this mix so I figured I would share it . Enjoy , Prince Paul unreleased series .

DJ KRUSH 20th Anniversary Project "Monthly Single Series" #10 (Available on 27th June'12) 

The monthly single release cuts that commenced last September as a project commemorating the 20th anniversary of KRUSH’s solo career, unlike his strictly conceptual albums, is a series of tunes, each with its own concept, and gives a freedom to go for various looks and flavas that push boundaries further out in depicting his world of sounds even more precisely. And here comes the last shot of this series, a tune that’s been integrated into his live set a lot, creating a buzz amongst his fans around the globe. It’s quite fast in tempo compared to other KRUSH tunes, but has those distinctive “in-between spaces,” “phatness,” “roughness,” and “depth” co-existing to complete his world & wrap up this phase of the project.

So this series sees its end after 10 tunes (10 long months), and needless to say, the countdown to the long-long awaited new album has begun (the album will basically be totally different from the tunes in this serial project). Details tba. A new chapter begins, and you are far from leaving your eyes off of DJKRUSH. 

ソロ活動２０周年プロジェクトとして、昨年９月よりスタートしたマンスリー・シングル・シリーズ。アルバムの様に大きなテーマに基づいての曲構成ではなく、それぞれの曲ごとに単体のコンセプトを持ち合わせ、曲調やカラーなども曲毎に良い意味で自由にまとめあげることにより、現在のDJ KRUSHの様々な世界感を余すことなく提示してきたこの企画もいよいよ完結を迎える。本シリーズの最後を飾るのは、ここ数年、高い確立でプレイリストにも組み込まれ、各所で問合せや反響の大きな１曲。KRUSH作品の中では比較的アップテンポな曲調だが、独特の"間"や"厚み"、"荒さ"、"深み"が同居するKRUSHならではの世界感が詰まった作品となった。

本作を含めて１０曲(１０カ月)に渡り続いてきた本シリーズもこれにて完結を迎え、いよいよ待望のソロアルバム(基本的には本シリーズ楽曲陣とは全く違う内容を予定)へのカウントダウンが始まった。詳しい情報は随時発表される予定。新たな章の幕開けとともに、まだまだDJ KRUSHから目が離せない。

This was a song was recorded in My studio in the early 2000's .Doom I had know for quite some time and at this point I had recorded Barman " It very stimulating ' EP . Barman wanted to collaborate with Doom on a song which was a great idea . All I remember in recording this was being amazed how these two guys styles complimented each other. Too bad we didnt record more songs that day.  We never had a formal release of this demo song but did appear on Doom's Leftovers . Please share Prince Paul's Unreleased series ( Its free )
