The Bombay Beach Biennale, what can I say? I came here with zero expectations, not really having any inkling what to expect, and that turned out to be the greatest piece of advice I could have given myself coming into this. The Bombay Beach Biennial  is a true festival of love and appreciation for the arts. Having never seen a ballet before, I walked away in complete awe fascinated by the concepts of humans floating so gracefully through the air. From the dilapidated, but oh-so carefully structured wreckage of automobiles that made up the coolest drive-in movie theatre in the world, the bare-bones pirate ship washed upon the shore, the charismatic freedom parade, the one and only Toledo show, the insanely weird and jaw dropping art exhibits; there were endless ways for the general population to express themselves at Bombay Beach. Bikers, townies, hipsters, men, women and children of all age and sizes, artists, pets, and anything that you could guess celebrated throughout the weekend with not a care in the world. What a spectacular occasion. I gracefully praise all who made this happen. Until next year my friends, here’s a little disco to relive our unforgettable moments together at the one and only Funky Beach.

Su objeto principal es el de fusionar sonidos de música como Jazz, Soul, R&B, Samba, Folclore Latinoamericano, entre otros, con algunos sonidos de fauna, flora, poesía y literatura; es una apuesta que estimula el rescate de melodías étnicas al ritmo de sonidos de downtempo, slowtechno-deep-ketapop-folclore-tech además de imponer vibraciones potenciales a la médula. 
Es una apuesta libre y melódica para poner ritmo al son de Slowbeats.

[Juɑn Mộruba emerges in Popayán - Colombia as a musical researcher of diverse cultures around the world. Its main purpose is to merge sounds of music such as Jazz, Soul, R & B, Samba, Latin American Folklore, among others, with some sounds of fauna, flora, poetry and literature; it is a bet that stimulates the rescue of ethnic melodies to the rhythm of downtempo, slowtechno-deep-ketapop-folklore-tech sounds as well as imposing potential vibrations on the marrow.

It is a free and melodic bet to put rhythm to the sound of Slowbeats.

Juan Moruba - Soy La Luna En Tu Ventana (Mixtape Oct 2018)

We are surrounded by the dreamers and the doers, the believers and the thinkers, the artists and the singers, and the rebels who dance to the beat of their own drum. Real-life pom pom’s who motivate and inspire me to align my actions with my highest values, wildest visions and deepest love!

This past Sunday, I got to share from that place ~ BBC came to film a feature on ecstatic dance, the creative process, and how and why this movement is bringing us closer to our bodies, creativity, our inner healer and each other in community. So many of you came and danced and shared your beautiful, funky, sweaty, vulnerable selves. 

I can’t quite express how much you inspire me!

I give thanks to the dancers and DJ’s who keep showing up week in and out with your offerings, keeping this movement alive. @Karishma and Frasier for being the world-bridgers to the BBC community; @Yogabarn for being our mothership, Emma, Sifoux & Lisa for being brave storytellers of their dance journeys. And last but certainly not least, my Beloved, Raio, who’s music genius inspires and has been my #1 cheerleader every single air boot step of the way. 

And so I share this ecstatic dance mix ~ music by amazing beings from around the world. El Buho, Raio, TempleStep, Peia, Satsang to name a few. An offering to the wild ones, and to the new ones who are ready to dip their toes into the soup. As with any ritual, carve out the space and time in your schedule, switch off your phones, turn up the volume and dig deep when you’re ready. This mix is full spectrum with surprising turns ~ into the sweet, fun, chaotic and the sacred. 

And as you open and expand, may it remind you that you are indeed surrounded by an entire community who believes in you, too!

Epstein’s music is inspired by his infatuation with the ancient formulas thought to have been used to calculate the precession of the equinox above the great pyramids of Giza. The impetus for his obsession came to him in a dream he had about a Japanese botanist that displayed the mathematics of the fibonacci numbers upon which every living being is designed through music. This is his melodic interpretation into his vision of the astral realm.
