Taken from the original DAT tape recorded by TSUYOSHI SUZUKI in April 1995 for CHAOS UNLIMITED.
It was released in Autumn 1995 as CUZ012 on a C94 chrome cassette.

Tsuyoshi's original mix for MATSURI 3 was 2 x 60 minute mixes but we had to shorten them down to 2 x 46 minute mixes to fit on a cassette tape. Finally, here is the FULL length mix of MATSURI 3 in all its glory! Never heard in full length before. This is something special in Goa Trance history.

It has never been released in Digital format or its full length until now. 
This full length mix has 2 tracks on A & B that were never included on the original mixtape.

So enjoy MATSURI 3 as TSUYOSHI intended it.

Inspired by the reception of the recent re-release of the early CHAOS UNLIMITED mixtape sessions which started with TSUYOSHI - MATSURI 1 & 2 and MARK ALLEN - PINCH OF PSYCHEDELIC from 1994-95, I have created a series of mixes called THE EARLY (FORMATIVE) YEARS OF GOA TRANCE exploring tracks from 1993-1996. The Sound of Trance/Techno & early Goa Trance that was the parent of what we today call Psy Trance.

We did not know it then but the roots of Goa Trance were formed by the Techno Trance pioneers of the early 90's. So join me on a journey through the history of Goa Trance.

Basilisk is a veteran multi-genre DJ, co-founder of the psychedelic techno label @Techgnosis-Records alongside @benramamusic, founder of the iconic @Ektoplazm free music portal and label group (including Ektoplazm, Drumlore, and Omnitropic), lossless audio enthusiast, and dedicated archivist and electronic music curator. Originally hailing from Toronto, Canada, he is now based in Taipei, Taiwan.

Psytrance, techno, electro, house, trance, acid, breaks, bass, IDM, ambient—you name it, I probably spin it. My mixes fluidly combine different genres into harmonic journeys that defy convention. I encourage you to browse around and get lost in some of the many sonic microcosms I have meticulously curated over the years. Nearly all mixes posted here are available for download on my homepage.
